
vivo has quietly launched a new mid-range smartphone in Malaysia, the vivo Y29t 5G. Featuring some compelling specs for its class, read on to learn more.

Under the hood, the Y29t 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC paired with 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Meanwhile, the battery is a massive 6000mAh cell, which supports 15W charging via the USB-C port.
Screen-wise, it’s a 6.74-inch 90Hz LCD with a 1600 x 720p resolution, 570 nits peak brightness and a water-drop notch housing the 5MP selfie shooter. At the rear, the main camera is 50MP and is paired with a 0.08MP secondary sensor.

Other notable specs include an IP64 rating, a dual SIM + microSD hybrid slot, Android 15 via Funtouch OS 15, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and colour options of either Jade Green or Titanium Gold. The official vivo Malaysia website has not listed the price of the Y29t 5G, but the device can be purchased via telco postpaid plans, which list it at an RRP of RM899 for the 6/128GB model and RM1099 for the 8/256GB configuration.
