vivo has released the vivo Y35 5G in China, the company’s latest offering in the affordable smartphone segment. A refresh of the Y35 LTE released back in August, the updated version comes with a better CPU and as its name would suggest: 5G connectivity.
According to the vivo official website in China, the Y35 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with either 4, 6 or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Moreover, it comes with 128GB of UF 2.2 storage and a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
In terms of display, the device sports a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate. It has relatively thin bezels with the screen-to-body ratio being a respectable 88.99 per cent and the use of a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera.
Speaking of which, the front-facing camera is a 5MP shooter while at the rear, there’s a 13MP main + 2MP macro dual-camera setup with LED flash. Other notable specs include a microSD card slot, dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.2, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack and colour options of black, blue and gold.
In China, the Y35 5G is priced at CNY1119 or ~RM758 for the 4/128GB variant, CNY1399 or ~RM854 for 6/128GB and CNY1499 or ~RM947 for the 8/128GB configuration. As of the time of writing, vivo has yet to reveal whether the device would be offered in other markets outside of China.
