vivo Y72 5G release: MTK Dimensity 700, 5,000mAh battery, and 64MP camera, priced at ~RM1,331

vivo has launched a bunch of Y-series 5G smartphones in China but has never brought one to the other regions. Today, the first has finally been launched in Thailand and it's the vivo Y72 5G. The device falls into the mid-range category by featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. Let's read on to find out what are the other tech specs and features that the vivo Y72 offers!

Other than Dimensity 700 chipset, the device also comes with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. For the screen, it sports a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 96 percent NTSC color gamut, and a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the vivo Y72 brings a 5,000mAh battery that also supports 18W fast charging.

For photography, there's a rear triple camera setup that has a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree FOV, and a 2MP macro shooter with a 4cm focal length. The setup also offers features including EIS, eye autofocus, and super night mode. On the front, it comes with a 16MP selfie camera placed in a waterdrop notch.

Furthermore, the vivo Y72 includes connectivity features like dual SIM support with 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, a microSD card slot, a superlinear speaker, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It will also run FunTouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11 out of the box. The device has only one variant which is 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with a price of 9,999 Thai Baht (~RM1,331). It will be available in two colors that are Graphite Black and Dream Glow. For now, its local availability is still unknown but we will let you know as soon as we receive any news.
