Remember the Under Display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor that vivo has been bragging about? We got the latest update for you, it seems that Synaptics has finally solved the problem of embedded fingerprint sensors on the display and is now mass producing it for vivo as we speak. Finally!

According to Forbes analyst, Patrick Moorhead, he has a first-hand experience with the unknown vivo phone that is using the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology, claiming it to be "fast and simple". In fact, it's so "fast and simple" that Synaptics said it's twice as fast as Apple's Face ID unlocking. Moreover, the analyst also mentioned that there will be as many as 70 million units of in-display sensors and it will be ready for 2018.

By the way, Qualcomm is also working on the under-display fingerprint sensor and it's unclear whether vivo will continue its partnership with them since Synaptics is also offering the same thing. However, other smartphone brands will surely take Qualcomm's offer and bring utilize the full display to its full advantage without having to put one at the back anymore.

Lastly, Synaptics also revealed that the prototype smartphone with the under display fingerprint sensor will be revealed in CES expo 2018 next month. So stay tuned for that at TechNave.com.
