Vivo has officially dropped the first teaser for its highly anticipated vivo Vision mixed-reality (MR) headset, offering the clearest glimpse yet at its ambitious foray into spatial computing. The teaser video teases a sleek, Apple Vision Pro–inspired design, signalling Vivo’s intent to enter the high-end MR space with confidence.
The Vision Discovery Edition Glasses
The Vision Discovery Edition Glasses sport a metal frame and sweeping visor-style front that closely resembles Apple’s Vision Pro. The CGI teaser highlights a prominent digital crown, touted for controlling passthrough opacity and other interface elements.
Although detailed specs remain under wraps, leaked insights suggest the headset will deliver gesture-based controls, allowing users to interact with virtual objects as intuitively as grabbing something with their hands. Vivo claims this is a rare functionality, achievable only by Apple and now themselves.
Design and Build Quality
Reports from early impressions indicate the Vision is “ultra-lightweight,” with fit and comfort likened to wearing AirPods Max over your head—but in MR headset form. The build quality has been described as “minimalist, elegant, and refined.”
Externally placed sensors—both on the visor and at the bottom—hint at advanced hand-tracking and spatial awareness capabilities, enabling immersive mixed-reality experiences.
When and Where to Experience?
Vivo has confirmed the debut of the Vision headset, coinciding with its annual Imaging Festival on 21 August 2025. While retail availability in 2025 is unlikely, the company plans to roll out demo experience zones in its stores across China, with reservations opening post-event. Market exclusivity remains possible, and there's no confirmation yet of a global rollout.
vivo has been working on its Vision for the longest time, and it was first reported at the end of 2024. The vivo Vision could mark a turning point in MR accessibility if priced competitively, but we will have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
