vivo is in the midst of developing 2 new foldable smartphones after both devices were spotted on the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) website. Both smartphones are possibly clamshell-style foldables as their names are the vivo V Flip and vivo S Flip, respectively.
As reported by GSMArena, the two new devices may be clamshell foldable offerings that are less premium and more affordable than its current flagship the X Flip. If so, then this is good news for the foldable market in general, as the more affordable pricing may attract more users.
Besides the names, there is nothing much that can be extracted from the patent listings. Furthermore, given that this is the first time the devices were spotted, it may take a while before they’re launched.
