vivo Malaysia has given an early look into the engineering innovations powering its upcoming vivo X300 Series, during a recent BlueTalk technical session with media representatives. The presentation focused on how vivo’s latest advancements in imaging and operating system design — particularly the ZEISS 200MP APO Super Telephoto system and OriginOS 6 — aim to elevate both performance and everyday user experience.

A New Standard for Mobile Imaging

The vivo X300 Series introduces a next-generation imaging setup developed in collaboration with ZEISS, featuring a 200MP APO Super Telephoto lens. The system employs fluorite-grade glass elements within a floating periscope structure, designed to minimise chromatic aberration and maintain superior sharpness.

At the core of this setup is the custom Blueprint Samsung HPB sensor, enabling true 4x lossless optical zoom. Together with vivo’s NICE 3.0 and MAGIC 2.0 computational photography engines, the system enhances colour accuracy, textural detail, and low-light realism.

According to Keshav Chugh, Senior Product Manager of Image Effects at vivo Global, the collaboration with ZEISS “delivers professional-grade optical performance, ensuring users can capture clear, detailed images even from extreme distances.”

The camera system also integrates a CIPA 5.5-level stabilisation mechanism, inspired by gimbal technology, and vivo’s Blueprint Extreme Tracking Engine, which enables precise subject tracking — especially useful for fast-moving subjects and handheld photography.

Reimagining the Operating System with OriginOS 6

The OriginOS 6 platform was presented as a major rethinking of vivo’s software experience. Designed around seamless performance, it focuses on resource management, long-term smoothness, and intelligent workflow integration.

Yvonne, OS Product Manager at vivo, explained that OriginOS 6 is “engineered from the ground up to provide consistent, reliable performance that users can depend on.” The new system integrates imaging and computational features more deeply than before, allowing for smoother transitions between camera modes, real-time video processing, and efficient power management.

Features like Dual-View Stage Recording enable simultaneous front and rear camera use — ideal for content creators — while Origin Smooth Engine, backed by SGS 5-Year Sustained Smoothness Certification, optimises memory and motion rendering for consistent performance over time.

Intelligent Design for Everyday Use

Beyond imaging and performance, OriginOS 6 introduces tools aimed at enhancing user productivity and personalisation. The Flip Cards feature transforms the interface into an interactive hub for real-time updates and task management, while Origin Island condenses notifications and essential information into a single, visually organised display.

For professionals, the vivo Office Kit bridges mobile and desktop environments with instant file synchronisation and communication integration, supporting efficient cross-platform workflows.

A Step Toward Seamless Integration

With the X300 Series, vivo continues its focus on merging cutting-edge imaging hardware with intelligent, user-centred software. The company’s approach emphasises long-term usability and thoughtful design rather than technical excess — a direction that may define its next generation of flagship smartphones.
