At IFA 2017, GSMarena reported that Western Digital has introduced the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card with 400GB capacity storage. Featuring transfer speeds of 100 MB/s and 10 years warranty, the microSDXC card is expected to be priced at £224.99 (~RM1242). No Malaysia release dates but we expect it to arrive here sooner or later.

We recently received a leak from an anonymous TechNaver about the upcoming vivo V7 Plus. While vivo will likely maintain their #PerfectSelfie track record with powerful dual front cameras, the leak shows that it will also have a borderless or bezel-free display. Lenovo and Motorola have officially announced their Moto X4 smartphone for €399 (~RM2027). Tech specs are decidedly midrange with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 3GB / 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage, a 5.2-inch FHD display, fingerprint sensor and 3090 mAh battery. The Moto camera hump gets a 12MP + 8MP dual rear camera with one sensor rumoured to be a wide-angle lens. The front camera has a 16MP sensor.

The guys at The Verge recently received official invites from Apple for their next big event, slated on 12 September 2017. The event looks to be the place where Apple will announce the Apple iPhone 8 (or iPhone 7S) and iPhone 8 Plus along with a few other Apple stuff like Apple Watch, Apple TV and so forth. While we're secretly hoping for some better thought-out AirPods, the next iPhone is rumoured to come with a bezel-free display like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6, while packing in wireless charging.

This time around Samsung have officially announced their Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear IconX (2018) wearables for IFA 2017. Keeping that rotateable crown, the Gear Sport offers a 1.0gHz processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB storage, 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display, heart-rate sensor, GPS, Wifi and Bluetooth. The 300 mAh battery can be charged wirelessly while the Gear Sport has a MIL-STD-810G shock resistance and 5ATM pressure resistance for swimmers.

In a not so surprise move after Apple brought out their ARKit, Google have announced their ARCore SDK for Android developers to create AR (Augmented Reality) experiences on normal smartphones without any special Google Tango hardware. It will be available with Google Pixel and the Samsung Galaxy S8 running Android 7.0 Nougat and above first, but will spread out to other manufacturers like ASUS, Huawei and LG.

Maxis recently announced that they have 60 Hotlink Malaysiamoji or animated Malaysia-themed GIF emojis such as ‘nasi lemak’, ‘OTW’, and ‘kaotim’.
