A recent patent filing may shed some clue to the camera mechanics of the upcoming Apple iPhone 7. The patent shows a periscope-like design for the camera sensor and zoom mechanics. This allows the module to be small and compact, and yet still allow zoom lens in the phone body.

As seen on Indigogo, the new Shock Clock wearable will give you the shock of your life, every morning or whenever you want it to. The Shock Clock will, as its name implies, shock you when your designated alarm is reached. You wear it around your wrist (like a watch) and when your morning alarm beeps, it will try to wake you up. It starts with vibrations, which is followed by beeps, and lastly when all else fails, a mild shock.

If you think your camera should be a box that takes pictures – think again. Researchers at Columbia University are now working to produce a flexible sheet camera with stretchable lenses. They aim to create thin cameras that can be wrapped around surfaces – like cars or pillars. It is currently at a research stage, but the sheet lens array that may be used in a future camera has been developed to capture images when is wrapped around an object.

A new company called Craft has announced their Craft Camera modular camera system that features swappable mounts which includes micro fourthirds (used by Olympus and Panasonic) as well as adaptors for Canon EF lenses for video shots that requires specific lenses. LEAGOO Malaysia recently sent out invites for their upcoming big display phablet called the LEAGOO Shark 1 coming next week. Tech specs for the Shark 1 appear to be limited as we only know that it will carry a huge 6300 mAh battery, have quick charging or Flash Charge and carry a rear fingerprint sensor. From early teaser images it looks like the Shark 1 will have a 6-inch or 7-inch display with a metal body and two-tone LED flash for the rear camera.
No specific Malaysia price details yet, but it looks like the Malaysia release date will start on 29 April 2016. LEAGOO Malaysia seem to be planning something big for the fans as well, complete with their LEAGOO Ambassador Zul Ariffin during the LEAGOO Shark 1 launch slated for 27 April 2016. Samsung has released an app called Safety Screen targeted specifically at children. It warns your kids and tell them to hold the device at a safe distance when they are are using their smartphone or tablet. It goes as far as blocking the screen with a pop-up animated sign, telling them to keep a safe distance. This way your kids will understand that every time they see that sign, they know they need to move back a little to have the sign disappear. It relies on the front camera and facial recognition to judge a safe distance between the kids and the device they hold.

Huawei teased us with a new a pair of identical rings light up to form the number 8, before projecting the letter 'V' up into the top half of the leaked poster. So It’s likely to be called the Honor V8 as it is clearly similar to the previous Huawei P9 teasers before its launch at the beginning of this month. This suggests that the Honor V8 will also have a dual camera setup but it won't be LEICA-certified like the P9. According to the leaked event teaser, we should be expecting Huawei to announce the new device on 10 May 2016.

The exclusive mobile plans we have been dying to get from Webe may not have released yet, but the folks at Lowyat.net discovered a Webe invitation page that is supposedly only for Webe invited individuals. Said page is now unavailable but you can see it for yourself below. The page reveals the name of the plan being the Pioneer plan and is meant for staff to try out from 31 March 2016 to 6 May 2016. After 31 July 2016, these subscribers will be converted to the normal consumer plans which are set to be announced and revealed on 1 August 2016. We've since confirmed this with TM staff who said they've registered for the WeBe starter kit already.
