Not so impressed by the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 or Mi VR? Well, Xiaomi continued to push boundaries with their fully ceramic Mi MIX concept smartphone utilizing a single block of ceramic and edge-to-edge display. Designed in collaboration with designer Philipe Starck, the front camera has been moved to the bottom and a number of sensors have been updated to work with the new fully ceramic build.

Asides from announcing their dual curved edge display Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Xiaomi also announced their affordable Mi VR headset for just 199 CNY (RM122). Compatible with the Mi Note 2, the Mi VR features a 16ms ultra-low latency for less motion sickness bundled with a hardware-based 9-axis inertial motion sensor controller. No Malaysia release date for this or whether or not we'll be getting this but it would certainly be a cool accessory to go with the Mi Note 2.

Xiaomi have officially announced their dual curved edge OLED display Mi Note 2 smartphone from 2799 CNY (RM1721) for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 3299 CNY (RM2029) for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 3499 CNY (RM2152) for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage global version. Available on pre-order in China starting from today, the Mi Note 2 features a front fingerprint sensor and a metal frame with curved 3D glass front and back design very much like the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. It also has a 22.56MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. There are no Malaysia release dates yet but we expect the global version to come to Malaysia soon.

Our pals at Lowyat.net shared that TM is in the initial stages of upgrading and doubling up Internet speeds in Malaysia throughout the whole of next year. The upgrade will be in stages, but will involve most TM customers out there.

Contrary to reports shared online, it seems that Samsung has no intention of killing off its Note series of smartphones, if the report we saw is true. We will see the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in 2017, and if the report is right, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners will get a big discount on the new model with a special upgrade programme.
