Google I/O is now happening in California, and early this morning (1am Malaysian time) Google CEO Sundar Pichai took the stage and gave the opening keynote. One of the things that he mentioned was that the Android 7.0 N is now heading to Nexus phones as many more manufacturers are still updating their devices with Marshmallow. A whole slew of new features are introduced with the yet-to-be-named - in fact Google is asking for your help to name it. The list of new features looks like it can and will change Android in the near term. These are some of the upcoming features we can expect from Android 7.0 N.

With the upcoming release of Android N, Google has taken steps to create a more robust VR experience for the Android platform. During Google I/O, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai was on stage to introduce DayDream, the VR platform that will be built into Android itself.

After announcing a whole new slew of features of the upcoming Android 7.0 N, Google is now asking the internet to help it name the next version of the operating system. As Google I/O is currently underway, they also went to the internets and using the hashtag #nameandroidn, wants suggestions from the public.

In other news during Google I/O 2016 event earlier today in the USA, Google has also revealed Android Wear 2.0 with several important smartwatch upgrades aimed to make the user's wearable experience to the next level. As you already know, the Huawei P9 and P9 Lite is coming soon to Malaysia next week (same goes to P9 Plus, but the release date is unknown), and the newly announced Honor V8 in China. But Huawei isn't done with their smartphone lineup yet, because they are planning to release the Honor 8 later this year, that is at least according to analyst Pan Jiutang from China.

In just a few hours ago, Google I/O 2016 kicked off in California, USA and they didn't waste any time announcing several Android and Google features, on this topic, we will take a look at their first two announced features - Google Assistant and Google Home. But what are they?

In conjunction with Google I/O 2016, Xiaomi have announced their Mi Box device based on Android TV 6.0. It will support 4K and HDR video playback along with apps. Powered by a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage tech specs and featuring Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Surround Sound, the Mi Box will be available in global markets (hopefully Malaysia too) soon. Xiaomi will also be one of the first to release a device for Android N's Daydream mobile VR platform.

As a customer of the Android platform and ecosystem, Xiaomi should be privy to many of the technology that is heading their way from Google. Now, they may just be right by Google's side for new technology, as the Vice President of International for Xiaomi, Hugo Barra, dropped massive hints on his twitter acount these past couple of days.

Now we may just see the full render of how the upcoming flagship from OnePlus will look like in the flesh. We actually like what we see here, barring some nit-picks here and there.
