About a month ahead of it's expected official release in Malaysia, the ASUS ZenFone 2 is now available from third party sellers like SatuGadgetDotCom and DirectD. Both are selling the ASUS ZenFone 2 ME550ML with a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor, 5.5-inch display, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage tech specs at RM999 with limited stocks. Bear in mind that this probably isn't the Malaysia version, it also probably won't support ASUS Malaysia's OTA system updates and that the initial pricing was a 5990 NT$ (RM699). We expect the official Malaysia release date for the official Malaysia ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphones to come sometime in late April 2015 so you shouldn't have to wait too long but if you can't, well, now you know where to go.

ASUS has revealed a new premium smartphone in their upcoming ASUS ZenFone 2 range with a version packing in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Coming under the same ZE551ML codename as the other 5.5-inch display ZenFone 2 smartphones, this new addition will be priced at 9990 NT$ (RM1167). Other tech specs will still include a new 64-bit Intel processor, 4G LTE connectivity and full HD 1080p resolution for the 5.5-inch display. The latest rumors suggest that Xiaomi is developing a new smartwatch for release in the market. Last year, the company had released its Xiaomi Mi Band smart band, so it is not new to the wearable industry. But if this turns out to be true, it would be the first Xiaomi smartwatch from the company. The report says that the Xiaomi smartwatch could feature a brushed metal finish like the one we saw on HTC One M9. Moreover, it would have a round dial bigger than a traditional watch display or competitor devices and a thin design. However, the highlight of the watch is said to be its pulse wave identification technology. This particular tech allows users to verify their identity using their pulse waves. While this sounds like a great tech to secure the device, it requires a lot of power which is already a big problem in smartwatches these days. Also, it would be costly to incorporate such a tech inside the device. Xiaomi devices are usually known for their affordability and using this tech would only increase the price. Apart from a new watch, Xiaomi is also said to be working on the second generation of its Xiaomi Mi Band. The new version will reportedly add in NFC connectivity to the wearable. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has yet to officially announce any specific details about its plans for its first smartwatch or the Mi Band 2.

This Saturday, Blackberry announced a new secured tablet in the market called the Blackberry SecuTablet. The device will come with encrypted apps and software and will be targeted at customers such as corporations and governments. This is not the first time Blackberry has released a tablet in the market, as it had unveiled the Blackberry Playbook back in 2011. However, the device didn't see much success and was eventually scrapped. Now, the Canadian company is back in the tablet industry but this time, it is not alone. Blackberry has joined hands with Samsung and IBM to develop the SecuTablet. The device is based on Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (so it looks and feels exactly the same) and is developed by Blackberry's sister unit, Secusmart. Samsung is involved in the development of hardware while IBM takes care of separating the work apps from the personal ones in a secure environment. The announcement of the SecuTablet is in line with the company's recent efforts to expand its base with business and government customers. In fact, its Secusmart encryption technology is already used by the Canadian and German government agencies. All the secured features of the tablet will take its price to $2350 (RM8701). It is highly unlikely that the SecuTablet will get a Malaysia release anytime soon unless of course the Malaysian Government deecides to go BlackBerry.
