Huawei Malaysia has recently sent out invites for an event happening on the 13 of November 2014. The invite clearly shows the back of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 with it's fingerprint sensor, indicating that we could see the phablet make an appearance there. Asides from a fingerprint sensor, other features include a near bezel-free x-inch display and Huawei's latest Kirin 925 octa -core processor along with up to 3GB of RAM. Priced at 499 euros (RM2047) with the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version going from 599 euros (RM2458), we're hoping the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is priced a bit more affordably here in Malaysia. While there is no news about other devices launching here in Malaysia along with it, the Ascend Mate 7 launched together with the Huawei Ascend G7 smartphone in China, so it could be coming here too. No actual Malaysia release dates just yet, but we'll find out about it in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more developments. In the meantime, check out the tech specs, features and videos for the Ascend Mate 7 and Ascend G7 below:

Rumours have it that Apple may have fixed their latest batch of Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphones so that they do not bend as easily as before. According to rumours, this was discovered by a reddit user named doctorkuddles who had initially bought a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus smartphone for his wife and recently bought a new 128GB iPhone 6 Plus smartphone for himself. Upon closer inspection he discovered that his newer 128GB iPhone 6 was both heavier and more solid than the earlier bought 16GB iPhone 6 smartphone. His exact words were that he discovered a "red colored object placed in the volume down button crank". After contacting iFixit, they discovered that the latest batch of iPhone 6 Plus smartphones were 8g heavier than the first batch. While it doesn't confirm anything (at least until someone tries bending the latest batch of iPhone 6 Plus smartphones), it could mean that if you do accidentally bend your iPhone 6 Plus, you will get the fixed version as a replacement. Apple have not confirmed anything and doesn't seem like they are recalling any of their earlier released bendable iPhone 6 Plus smartphones either. While this may be good news for iPhone 6 Plus users do take this rumour with a good pinch of salt and don't go bending your smartphones intentionally.

After months of teasing images and videos, mostly from OPPO themselves, the OPPO N3 has officially been announced. Featuring an automatic (as in self-tracking) motorized rotateable 16MP camera that rotates with the subject at hand the OPPO N3 is the latest flagship smartphone from OPPO. In terms of design, it looks like a mish mash of the OPPO Find 7 and the OPPO N1 with an in between sized 5.5-inch display. The main highlight of the OPPO N3 remains the camera though as the 16MP sensor is 1/2.3" large with a 1.34 micrometer pixel size, so you can get great low-light shots. IT also uses Schneider Kreuznach lens and utilizes the same photostitching feature for 64MP panorama shots. The camera also features slow shutter, ultra macro mode, after focus, RAW support and a new O-Click remote control.

Initially thought to be the OPPO N3 Mini, the super thin OPPO R5 smartphone recently got it's official announcement alongside the OPPO N3. While it isn't 4mm thin exactly as originally reported, it is 4.85mm thin, making it the current world's thinnest smartphone. Utilizing a 3D-welded aluminum alloy frame, hand-polished to shiny perfection, the OPPO R5 measures in at 148.9 x 74.5 x 4.85mm and 155g. The overall design is flat and thin while the rear camera protrudes out. Other tech specs include a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 procesor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with full HD 1080p resolution, 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with a 5MP front camera. Features include 120fps slow motion video at 720p and 2160p video record (2K) at 30fps. Somehow, OPPO have managed to pack in a 2000 mAh battery while also offering 4G LTE and a fast charging VOOC mini rapid charger. The smartphone works with OPPO's O-Music accessory for media streaming partly because it does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. No Malaysia release dates or pricing yet but it is expected to retail at $499 (RM1640).

Huawei recently unveiled another worthy addition to their Honor smartphone lineup with the Huawei Honor 4X. The most notable feature that it offers a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. Other tech specs include a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, 3000 mAh battery and Android 4.4. Measuring in at 7.9mm thin it uses the same flat and thin rounded corners look as the Huawei Honor 6. Like the Honor 6 it also seems to do away with any Huawei branding whatsoever but it should be noted that it is all set for Android 5.0 Lollipop as the capacitive keys below the screen match with those on Android 5.0. While we don't have any Malaysia release dates or pricing, it is currently on pre-order for 1299 CNY (RM694) which would really shake things up more in the midrange. It is expected to ship on 6 November 2014.
