We recently spotted something interesting in the ASUS Malaysia product guide indicating that the top-of-the-lineASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe  is coming to Malaysia. No specific Malaysia release dates or pricing details were mentioned but with the product guide being for August to September we assume that the ZenFone 2 Deluxe is coming to Malaysia sometime in September 2015 next month. Tech specs  also indicate that this is the version with 128GB and not the recently announced ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition that had 256GB storage. Rest assured though, as you should still be able to stick in a 128GB microSD for further expansion. Stay tuned and we'll update you as soon as possible.

Samsung Malaysia has just confirmed the pricing and sent out the invites for the Malaysia launching of their latest Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 5. According to Samsung Malaysia the launch will be on 3 September 2015 but both will be available on 4 September 2015. The Galaxy S6 edge+ will be priced at RM3099 (inclusive of 6% GST) with 32GB storage and come in black and gold. The Galaxy Note 5 on the other hand will be priced at RM2699 (again inclusive of 6% GST) with 32GB storage and in gold or white. While both feature nearly the same tech specs, the Galaxy Note 5 features the latest in S Pen stylus technology, while the Galaxy S6 edge+ offers a larger 5.7-inch dual edge curved display with 2K resolution. Both feature a more premium design of metal and glass along with the latest ISOCELL camera technology. Sony Mobile recently launched their new Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and Xperia M5 Dual for Malaysia. The Xperia C5 Ultra Dual features a large 6-inch FHD display with 13MP Exmor RS and LED flash front and back cameras for RM1399. Also for the midrange is the Xperia M5 Dual for RM1599 with a waterproof full metal body, Mediatek Helio X10 processor and 21.5MP Exmor RS with Hybrid AF rear camera and 13MP front camera for RM1599. LINE users can also enter a special contest on the Sony Mobile Malaysia LINE Official Account at "Sony Mobile MY" and answer the questions to win a brand new Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and Sony Xperia M5 Dual. Both are available exclusively on 11street.my via pre-orders with benefits from 17 August 2015 to 31 August 2015 where the first 200 customers can receive complimentary gifts worth up to RM250. A contest to win a device and other gifts is also available on the 11street Facebook page.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is the latest dual curved display to come from Samsung and sports a larger 5.7-inch 2K display. It also takes a step up from previous plastic Samsungs with the Galaxy S6 edge use of metal and glass for a more premium feel. Like a few other Samsung devices before this, Samsung have since released the inboxing video for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ where everything is put together and boxed. Huawei Malaysia recently showed of its fashion mettle doing a collaboration with the recent KL Fashion Week 2015. Featuring the Huawei P8 and first official appearance of the Huawei Watch, the show also saw the latest collection from  popular Malaysian actress-cum-fashion designer, Nur Fazura. In conjunction with the KL Fashion Week Huawei Malaysia also organized the #WeiToFashion promotion which starts from 14 August 2015 and ends on 13 September 2015 aimed style-conscious Malaysians who are looking to Huawei for beautiful smart devices. Those who wish to participate can drop by any nearby Huawei store and purchase the Huawei P8 then fill out the contest form with proof of purchase to enter the #WeiToFashion promotion and the opportunity to win some awesome prizes.

The recently announced ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe looks to be getting an upgrade as the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition was recently announced for Brazil, this time packing in 256GB of storage over the previous 128GB. While 128GB is already huge, 256GB should make this Special Edition the videographers go to cameraphone along with other professionals who work with large files. Other tech specs remain the same as before though with a 64-bit 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM, up to 128GB microSD slot and 5.5-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There are also a 13MP Pixelmaster rear camera with double tone LED flash, 5MP front camera and 3000 mAh battery. It will have two backplates, an angled black line version and a white Illusion pattern. So far there are no Malaysia release dates or pricing details but it seems unlikely that it will reach Malaysia through official channels anytime soon, considering that we still haven't got the ZenFone Zoom and are now just getting the ZenFone Selfie next weekend. It'd be great if we were wrong, but if you still want the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition keep an eye on third-party sellers like SatuGadgetDotCom or DirectD.

The interesting Huawei Honor smartphone that has been making the rounds has been officially announced as the Huawei Honor 7i. Featuring a single 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and sapphire crystal cover, this camera can be fliped up and back to become the front camera. While the highlight of the Honor 7i is obviously the camera with it's f/2.0 aperture, there is also a surprise with a fingerprint sensor located on the side. Other tech specs are decidedly midrange though, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage and a 3100 mAh battery. According to Huawei, the hinge has been tested to last for two years with up to 132 flips every day, so no worries on the hinge durability. Unfortunately, there are still no Malaysia release dates or pricing details, but the Huawei Honor 7i is being priced from $250 (RM1041) so we're expecting another RM1099 priced metal-frame midranger to hit Malaysia soon.

Sony Malaysia has already sent out the invites showing that the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and Xperia M5 Dual are both coming to Malaysia on 25 August 2015. Announced previously, the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual is the larger 6-inch full HD display smartphone of the two that offers a slim and 8.2mm thin design with 13MP Exmor RS cameras for both the front and back. The Sony Xperia M5 on the other hand packs in a 20.5MP rear camera with Hybrid AF, up to ISO 3200 and video and image stabilization. The M5 will also feature an IP65 rated waterproof metal body, the latest 64-bit 2GHz Helio X10 MediaTek processor, 3GB RAM and a 5-inch FHD display. No details yet on pricing information but both are the dual-SIM variety and we'll be on hand to check them out next week, so stay tuned for that.

Panasonic recently launched their new Toughbook CF-54 HD, Toughbook CF-MX4 notebooks and Toughpad FZ-X1 tablet for Malaysia. All three are ruggedized devices that are designed to take drops, shocks and spills with no problems. Aimed squarely at those who need a tough field device in the automotive, delivery and health care industries, there is the business rugged Toughbook CF-MX4, semi rugged Toughbook CF-54 and fully rugged IP68 rated Toughpad FZ-X1 tablet. While the notebooks are powered by the latest 5th generation vPro secure Intel processors, they also have Windows 8.1 Pro on-board as well. The Toughpad FZ-X1 tablet runs on a Qualcomm S4 Pro and Android 2.2 but another version also offers a Windows option. All are available in Malaysia with the Toughbook CF-54 going for USD 2349 (RM9815), the CF-MX4 for USD 1949 (RM8144) and Toughpad FZ-X1 for USD 1499 (RM6263). In related news, Panasonic is also launching their ASEAN Configuration Centre currently operating in Johor Baru for regional support which according to them, should help lower transportation costs.

ASUS Malaysia are making it official as they just announced that the ASUS ZenFone Selfie is coming to Malaysia on 30 August 2015 (next Sunday) at Mid Valley Megamall, Centre Court, Ground Floor. Featuring the same ASUS ZenFone 2 design, the ZenFone Selfie brings 13MP cameras with dual LED flash and laser autofocus for both the front and back. Other tech specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, a 5.5-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a 3000 mAh battery. Already, ASUS Malaysia have launched their ASUS Cosplay Selfie Challenge to win your very own ASUS ZenFone Selfie which is still going on. No news yet on Malaysia pricing details but it is currently going for 15999 INR (RM1014) in India which could mean that it will go for RM999 to RM1099 over here.
