Samsung has recently announced an improved version of their Exynos 5 Octa chipset. While the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 already has the earlier version of the Exynos 5 Octa chipset it's performance has been overshadowed by the Snapdragon 800 from Qualcomm. Rumours indicate that the enhanced version of the Exynos 5 Octa chipset may be called Exynos Evolved  with the teaser from Samsung indicating that it will be "a more powerful, enhanced Exynos 5 Octa". 

Rumours are swirling that the Google Nexus 7 II tablet may be coming as soon as next week which coincides with an event hosted by Sundar Pichai, Android head. Many of those rumours have turned into pictures and videos of the 2nd generation tablet. So far, specs for the Nexus 7 II tablet include:

When rumours first came out that Nokia would be working on larger screen devices, many industry watchers were predicting the next run of Nokia phablets and the like. Perhaps testing the waters for these larger models would be the Nokia Lumia 625 which recently got certified in China with a screen size of 4.7-inches. Tech specs for the Nokia Lumia 625 include:

Toshiba has recently announced new UHS-II SD cards in the form of the Exceria and Exceria Pro product line-ups. They follow the new UHS-II standard for currently the world's fastest write speed of 240MB per second for the Exceria Pro and 120MB per second for the Exceria. Both Exceria Pro and Exceria cards have a maximum read speed of 260MB per second. Faster read and write speeds are important for photographers who need a nearly instantaneous response from their digital camera and don't want to be slowed down by a memory card.

After a very brief teaser period, Huawei Malaysia has confirmed that the Huawei Ascend P6 will be launched in Malaysia with the launch date set at 25 July 2013. Bear in mind that this would be on the same lines as an announcement and not the same as an actual release date, which could be a bit further down the road. Unfortunately, no details just yet on pricing or availability but stay tuned for further developments. No other news on the other upcoming Huawei devices like the Ascend P2, Ascend Y210D, G525 or MediaPad 7 Vogue so this could just be a single device launch.

Barely 3 months after it's official release in Malaysia and Microsoft Malaysia are cutting down the price for the Microsoft Surface RT tablets. While bits and pieces of the upcoming Apple iPhone 5S have been appearing for quite some time now, new pics of the aluminum unibody chassis and some interesting new tech specs have recently surfaced. The new tech specs for the Apple iPhone 5S include:

Many would say that the clamshell or flip-phone form factor died a long time ago, but there are rumours that Samsung will be developing a clamshell Android smartphone in the not-so-far-off-future.
