While it still hasn't been released yet another rumour has appeared about the Nokia EOS, Nokia's upcoming cameraphone. Rather than be called the Nokia EOS (which does give it sort of Canon digital camera like sound to it) the cameraphone may soon be called the Nokia Lumia 1020. This rumour comes courtesy of evleaks who has more often than not revealed fairly accurate leaks. They also revealed a press shot quality render of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1020, although it didn't show the most important part, the rear of the smartphone. So far only the 41MP PureView sensor has been confirmed for their Nokia Lumia 1020 but all should be made clear on 11 July 2013 when Nokia will likely reveal the cameraphone, or at least have 41 million reasons why you should want it. Yam Su Yin, HP Senior Director, was recently quoted that the company may be looking to get back into the mobile industry with a smartphone. The quote in question is:

"Being late you have to create a different set of proposition. There are still things that can be done. Its not late. When HP has a smartphone, it will give a differentiated experience."-Yam Su Yin, Senior Director Consumer PC and Media Tablets, HP

It isn't the first time HP has made smartphones but almost all of their devices have crashed and burned in the long run. This included the Palm, Palm Pre and Palm Pixi. This was mainly because the phones just weren't selling, perhaps not because of innovation as the HP webOS was widely seen as the next real challenger for the Apple iPhone but maybe because of a lack in hype and marketing focus.

If you need mobile Internet for a day on your smartphone, most of the available packages cost upwards of RM5 and even then, you only get a few hundred MB or so. However, Maxis is now offering Mobile Internet for an all-time low of RM1/Day and with no limits. The catch is that you have to do it through Opera Mini. This can be accessed from the Opera Mini speed dial screen where you tap the RM1/DAY icon, select the one-day unlimited plan, confirm and you're good to go. While it does say unlimited, there are some "limitations" to that which include:

• Downloaded files cannot be bigger than 15MB
• All browsing must be done using Opera Mini 4.4 and above
• Any external usage (Facebook App, Twitter app, Chat, Youtube etc) are not under the plan and are charged as per usage basis from your Maxis account
• Only available to Maxis Postpaid and prepaid (Hotlink) users

The title of World's thinnest smartphone is currently being held by the Huawei Ascend P6 which has a super thin thickness of 6.1mm. This title may soon see a change of hands though as another Chinese smartphone called the Umeox X5 is set to gain the title with a 5.6mm thick chassis. Other rumoured tech specs for the Umeox X5 include:

• 512MB / 1GB RAM
• 4GB storage + 32GB SD card
• 5MP rear camera + 5MP front camera
• Single SIM
• 1400 mAh

The Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet is likely one of the better tablets out there despite it being generally more affordable than most. If rumours are to be believed it also has an incredible 2nd generation replacement on the way as a live chat with an Asus representative revealed some very impressive tech specs. These tech specs include:

• Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad Core CPU (APQ8064)
• 7-inch LED (1920 x 1200 pixel resolution)
• 2GB RAM
• 32GB storage
• 5MP rear camera + 1.2MP front camera
• 4000 mAh battery
• supports WiFi a/b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0 + NFC + LTE + WCDMA + GSM

Samsung's next big smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 is rumoured to finally make a launch appearance on 4 September 2013 at a Samsung Unpacked event. This event will be held just before the IFA 2013 event. These rumours probably started because the first Samsung Galaxy Note was introduced at IFA 2011 while the Samsung Galaxy Note II got revealed at a similar Samsung Unpacked event in September 2012 (again right before IFA 2012). Tech specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 now include:

• 2.3GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor
• 3GB of RAM
• 13MP rear camera (OIS)
• 5.7-inch Super AMOLED (1080p) / Flexible 5.99-inch AMOLED screen
• Supports LTE-A
• 8mm thick | 183g

Apple really comes up with some interesting patents and one of their more recent patents sounds particularly well suited for devices with small screens, which also sounds particularly well suited for Apple's upcoming iWatch. The patent in question is for a bezel technology that disappears (and becomes touch capable) and reappears (becoming insensitive bezel) when needed. Believe it or not, bezels are quite necessary for most touchscreen devices as they help offer a place to grip, however, for a small touchscreen like on the upcoming iWatch, having a situation where you need a bit more space could come in handy.

In what could be the Moto X (or otherwise known as Google X phone) a leak appeared recently about the Motorola Droid Ultra. It initially appeared on Motorola's own site and mentions a DuPont Kevlar body. The page initially had the tagline "THINK THIN" and mentioned it would come in "a bunch of glossy colors" but the page has since been taken down. While there were tech specs on the page they were referring to the Motorola RAZR M which is another thin, Kevlar based phone but only has black, white and purple with no other glossy colours. For those who don't know, Kevlar is a tough composite material often used inside bullet-proof vests. No other details such as specific tech specs, pricing or availability were available but the existance of the page should mean it is coming soon.

Continuing to move onwards, Canon has released the Canon EOS 70D. Refreshing the solid performance provided by the Canon EOS 60D with a new 20.1MP Dual Pixel sensor and a whole bunch of other awesome features, the 70D includes tech specs such as:

• Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Live View
• 3.0-inch 1040K Dot Vari-Angle Touchscreen

After just two weeks or so of offering top smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One on Zero Contract at subsidized prices, DiGi are slashing the prices for these two top smartphones by about RM100 or so. While the Samsung Galaxy S4 was initially offered at RM1883 DiGi is now offering it from as low as RM1773 while the HTC One is dropping from RM1953 to as low as RM1843 on Zero Contract. Contracted plans for 24-months have also received a price cut which you can see in the table below:
