Thanks to Samsung Malaysia we recently went #A2017LiveUnplanned with the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017, for a family vacation at Lexis Hibiscus in Port Dickson, Malaysia. Recording duties were of course given entirely to the Galaxy A7 2017 with its 16MP front and rear camera and plenty of room thanks to 32GB of storage. Starting out the journey it was obviously roadtrip time with plenty of cloud watching along the way.

Tired of looking for your perfect entry-level smartphone? Too many choices? How about getting an all-rounder? An all-rounder smartphone is one that does everything well if not better than the average device. The original ASUS ZenFone Zoom aimed to offer the most powerful Intel mobile processor, plenty of storage and a 3X optical zoom for what would be the best ASUS ZenFone cameraphone. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way as competitors beat it to the punch with sleeker designs, better camera sensors and processors. Learning well from this lesson, ASUS have released the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL as one of the first around RM2K Dual Pixel and dual rear camera equipped smartphones in the Malaysian market. Read on to see why we think the sleek metal bodied ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL with the 5000 mAh battery life could be the next true flagship killer.

Ah, Xiaomi. They’re back again with a brand new budget friendly smartphone - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 at the price of RM799 only. It’s even more affordable than the Redmi Note 3 which we reviewed last year. Ok, sure it’s really affordable but does that price equal quality? Thankfully yes and more, but read below to find out why we think Xiaomi is still on of the top contenders for the best budget friendly smartphone title here in Malaysia.

Being one of the most hyped camera smartphones in early 2017, Huawei actually did a pretty good job improving their latest flagship with the Huawei P10. Just like its predecessor, the Huawei P9, the highlight is still on their dual camera setup engineered by Leica. But it is now slightly upgraded to 20MP from 12MP and Leica expanded their collaboration with Huawei by using Leica lens and colour sensor on the Huawei P10's front facing camera as well. Find out what other improvements were made with our full review of the Huawei P10 below.

While we've been wanting the LG G6 ever since it appeared at MWC 2017, it looks like JerryRigEverything will be torture testing it first, showing how much burn, bend and scratch tests it can take. Featuring a 5.7-inch FullVision display in an 18:9 aspect ratio and IP68 water resistant premium metal frame, the LG G6 does surprisingly well in some cases, but do check out the video for yourself. We have high hopes that LG will eventually bring the LG G6 into Malaysia but its presence here has not been very strong lately, unlike the LG G6 of course.

The Sony Xperia XA1 doesn't come with the super slow-mo feature like its elder brother, the Xperia XZs, but it's certainly a more affordable smartphone (RM1199 officially) and its 23MP camera at the back isn't that bad as well. Check out our video below to see what we think along with the special 5x Clear Image Zoom camera feature too!

After requests from our TechNavers we recently tried out the 4K video recording capabilities of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL. Featuring both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom also offers up to 12x zoom (5x zoom in video recording mode), a dual rear camera with a dual Pixel camera sensor, 5000 mAh battery and more for just RM2099. The current pricing has dropped somewhat below RM1.9K though, which should make the ZenFone 3 Zoom even more of a flagship killer. You can check out our unboxing and hands-on video previously or see how stable 4K video recording is below.
