Featuring tech specs that include a 5-inch Full HD 1080p screen, 7-layer pattern infused backside and metallic chassis, the Huawei Ascend P7 combines key features from other smartphones while offering a design wholly their own. Thanks to Huawei Malaysia and a good amount of luck, we managed to get our hands on a Huawei Ascend P7 smarpthone early, so do check out our hands-on video of the smartphone below. The smartphone is currently available in most Malaysian retail stores while telco deals from Malaysian telcos like Celcom and U Mobile involving the Ascend P7 should be coming soon. The Ascend P7 currently retails for RM1499 and we'll be doing a full review of the smartphone shortly, so do stay tuned for more updates.

The Huawei Ascend P7 was just launched recently in Malaysia for RM1499. The ability to connect to 4G LTE with Huawei's own Kirin processors along with other flagship features in a 6.5mm thin compact design, makes the Ascend P7 a very interesting smartphone for Malaysia's masses. Thankfully, we were able to get the smartphone partly due to luck and mostly from Huawei Malaysia, so do check out our unboxing video below. Most cameraphones offer users a number of features that aren't available to standard smartphones that have cameras. While the recently unveiled Xiaomi MiPad looks to be the only tablet to be using the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and chipset, the Tegra K1 apparently made the benchmarking rounds recently. While it isn't with the 3GB RAM MiPad, it is a device running the Tegra K1 with 4GB RAM. Apart from the 192-core Kepler GPU graphics, the Tegra K1 comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Running through AnTuTu, 3DMark, Basemark X and every other benchmark available the Tegra K1 beat the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 and NVIDIA's own Tegra 4 by a long shot. Today's latest smartphones can now record 4K video and this includes the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Wanting to see just how far today's smartphone cameras have gone, photographer Alec Weinstein paired up the Galaxy Note 3's 13MP camera against a Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR with a SIGMA 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. Bear in mind that the EOS 5D Mark III has been tweaked somewhat to get similar colour, contrast, saturation and sharpening, but the results are still decidedly better for the Galaxy Note 3. Granted, the Galaxy Note 3 is recording in 4K video but the resulting video has been downsized to 1080p and that the EOS 5D Mark III is definitely an excellent camera. Premium looks don't always mean premium performance, especially when the price of the mobile device isn't at a premium. Unfortunately, there aren't that many premium looking Android smartphones out there that both perform well and cost affordable but OPPO hope to change that perception with the OPPO R1, their second smartphone for the Malaysian midrange market.
