The upcoming LG Odin octa-core chipset and processor rumoured to be used in the just as rumoured LG G3 has recently been benchmarked on AnTuTu. Scoring 27184, the reason for the lower performance (the LG G2 scored 35069) could be because the LG Odin was just clocked at 100MHz-1.0GHz. Considering that the Snapdragon 800 on the LG G2 is clocked at 2.26GHz we should be able to expect even better performance from the LG Odin. Then again, the higher clock speed does come at the price of a shorter battery life, so if the LG Odin could reach the same performance but offer better extended battery life, this would also be a good deal in our opinion. The benchmark also revealed that rather than run all 8 of the cores at the same time, the AnTuTu benchmark reveals that it is running the ARM big.LITTLE architecture where only one set of 4 cores are running at a time. Graphics performance was exceptionally high though, as it uses the PowerVR Series 6 GPU which is the same series used on the Apple iPhone 5S. Other tech specs and features include a 1080 x 1920 display resolution, 2GB of RAM, 4GB of storage and Android 4.2.2. The rather small 4GB of storage is to be expected though as this is probably still very much a prototype device. No news about Malaysia release dates or pricing for the LG G3 but with it just at prototype stage for now, it seems likely it could be in Q2 or Q3 of 2014.

The Apple iPhone 5S has been out in the market for quite some time. Bringing about a fairly big hardware upgrade over the previous Apple iPhone 5 with the 64-bit A7 processor and chipset along with a number of other upgrades, benchmarks of the iPhone 5S have been quite good in terms of performance. However, it has taken some time for complete battery benchmarks to be done. These battery benchmarks have since been done and the short answer is that the iPhone 5S is a bit more energy efficient than the iPhone 5 with a 5 hour or so battery life compared to the previous version. Bear in mind that this is on really heavy usage and that usuallyt, on normal usage, most users can expect about 10 hours or so worth of battery time on a single charge. This still isn't good enough to take out the battery life champion nor some of the other smartphones in the same price range but it does offer some measure of improvement over the previous iPhone.

The Apple iPad mini is the first generation 7.9-inch tablet from Apple while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is the official next generation tablet after the first Samsung Galaxy Tab (despite there being several other tablets that came directly after the first Galaxy Tab). The main question that we're looking to answer this time is which device is better in this comparison between the Apple iPad mini and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Check out the full comparison in this article.

Recently, it came to light that Samsung and other mobile manufacturers were cheating current mobile benchmarks by upping processor performance each time these benchmarks were run on their devices. While this isn't something new in the tech industry, quite a lot of people were shocked, declared they never use benchmarks anyhow and made a general fuss about the whole issue. A startup called GameBench who have direct working experience with both ARM and MediaTek recently made an "uncheatable" benchmark for mobile gaming. The beta version of this GameBenchbenchmark was then run on the Samsung Galaxy S4 (the Snapdragon 600 version) and HTC One, two of the most contested smartphone models of last year (and supposed to have cheated previously). Turns out that the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is still better than the HTC One (and closer to the original "cheating" scores than previously thought of). Check out the charts in the article.

When Apple first came out with the Apple iPad mini we loved it's better design as the slimmer bezels and narrower look made it awesome to handle. However, while the 7.9-inch screen was still very good in itself, we wondered why Apple didn't put in a Retina Display like it had with the most recent version (at the time) of the Apple iPad. Turns out, they were waiting for the next generation Apple iPad mini 2 or as Apple wants to call it, the Apple iPad mini with Retina Display. The smaller Apple tablet that could is now a lot more capable as Apple have not only added on the expected (and much wanted) Retina Display, but have also included a very capable hardware upgrade. Read on to see our full review of the Apple iPad mini with Retina Display.

When the Apple iPad mini first came out, it featured the slim bezels and narrower thin looks currently being used by the Apple iPad Air giving the mini the advantage in terms of design. It also offers several hardware upgrades, but do these additional features make the Apple iPad mini with Retina Display the better choice? Should you buy the Aple iPad mini with Retina Display even though you may already have an Apple iPad mini?
