After three years of selling its flagship handsets under the Moto X brand, Lenovo's Motorola is planning on changing course with this year's models. The company is rumoured to be ditching the Moto X brand name and switching to Moto Z.

In the last few hours ago, Samsung has been sending invites about a new Samsung Galaxy C series and it's reported to be unveiled on 26 May in China. The previous news are true – we will see Nokia branded devices running Android really soon. Nokia Technologies revealed today that it has given exclusive global license to HMD Global, a startup company based out of its own home country of Finland. At the same time, Microsoft has confirmed the sale of their feature phone business that carries the license to the name Nokia, to Foxconn’s subsidiary FIH Mobile for USD 350 million.

Google I/O is now happening in California, and early this morning (1am Malaysian time) Google CEO Sundar Pichai took the stage and gave the opening keynote. One of the things that he mentioned was that the Android 7.0 N is now heading to Nexus phones as many more manufacturers are still updating their devices with Marshmallow. A whole slew of new features are introduced with the yet-to-be-named - in fact Google is asking for your help to name it. With the upcoming release of Android N, Google has taken steps to create a more robust VR experience for the Android platform. During Google I/O, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai was on stage to introduce DayDream, the VR platform that will be built into Android itself.

After announcing a whole new slew of features of the upcoming Android 7.0 N, Google is now asking the internet to help it name the next version of the operating system. As Google I/O is currently underway, they also went to the internets and using the hashtag #nameandroidn, wants suggestions from the public.

In other news during Google I/O 2016 event earlier today in the USA, Google has also revealed Android Wear 2.0 with several important smartwatch upgrades aimed to make the user's wearable experience to the next level. As you already know, the Huawei P9 and P9 Lite is coming soon to Malaysia next week (same goes to P9 Plus, but the release date is unknown), and the newly announced Honor V8 in China. But Huawei isn't done with their smartphone lineup yet, because they are planning to release the Honor 8 later this year, that is at least according to analyst Pan Jiutang from China.
