The recently released Samsung Galaxy S4 mini will apparently arrive in three new colours. These include the usually thematically named Scarlet Dawn, Bronze Autumn and Blue Iceberg, which basically means red, brown and blue. Check out the pics of the mini in all three colours below. Unfortunately, there isn't any mention when these colours will be available but the official announcement should be soon.

While other smartphone makers are chasing the highest megapixels for their cameras or pixel per inch pixel density for their screens, others are trying to make the record for the World's thinnest phone. This includes the BBK Vivo X3 which is now currently the thinnest phone in the world. Taking over from the previous champion the Huawei Ascend P6 with 6mm, it should be available within August. No news yet if it will only be available in China or how much it might cost but it sits on a very shaky throne as others, like the 5.6mm Umeox X5 are coming out soon as well. The Nokia Lumia 520 remains the most popular Windows Phone device Nokia has to offer, and this time around Celcom are offering it for just RM188. As usual, the smartphone is for the Celcom First plans with a Mobile Internet plan, available under 12 months or 18 months contracts. Seagate recently revealed that it is now shipping the industry's first enterprise solid state hybrid drive. Named the Enterprise Turbo SSHD it combines a 15K RPM hard disk drive with an SSD for mission critical data. The drive currently has capacities up to 600GB and is three times better than existing 15K RPM drives. Features for the Seagate Enterprise Turbo SSHD include:

With the Motorola Moto X set to be announced tomorrow it seems apt to leak whatever we know about the upcoming smartphone. Apparently the phone will use Magic Glass which is a layer of Gorilla Glass molded to a special polymer, creating a continuous surface from the front to the edges of the device. The resulting smartphone will have a zero gap construction for a seamless look and feel, but hopefully allow for microSD expansion somehow. Other tech specs for the Motorola Moto X include:

• 2GB RAM
• 16GB / 32GB storage + microSD
• 4.7-inch 720p display
• 10.5MP rear camera + 2.1MP front camera
• Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

For those not in the know (or aren't an Apple iOS developer) then know this, Apple's iOS 7 beta 4 has been released. Apart from the new features and bug fixes, going through the change log confirms a new fingerprint scanner for the upcoming Apple iPhone 5S. This was found by developer Hamza Sood who discovered a folder labeled "BiometricKitUI". This folder contained script which described processes that show a fingerprint scanner in action. This included statements like "a person holding an iPhone with their left hand while touching the Home button with their thumb" or "A fingerprint that changes colour during the setup process". This would be a definite change from the norm as most 'S' upgrades to the Apple iPhone have largely been software and not hardware related.

It appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note II is also getting a refresh as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 powered version has made its way to China. Recently announced by China Mobile (which is the largest carrier in China) as the N7108D, the new version looks exactly the same as the old Samsung Galaxy Note II but has had a refresh in terms of the internal hardware. This includes FDD-LTE, TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA standards. The aforementioned chipset also upgrades the Mali 400 GPU with the much faster Adreno 320 while the 1.9GHz quad-core Krait 300 processor results in a benchmark that beats the older version with ease.

Fans waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 can now get the 7-inch tablet with cellular capabilities from Celcom for as low as RM549. Knocking down the price by about half from the original retail price of RM1099 the tablet offers entry level to midrange performance with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. The tablet is available on the various Celcom First plans with pay-as-you-use voice  and SMS for 12 month or 24 month contracts. For more details check out the table below:

The upcoming low-cost Apple iPhone formerly known as the Apple iPhone Lite may now be known as the Apple iPhone 5C as recently discovered packaging show the name on the side of the box. While it could very well be another knock-off, the packaging jives with how the Apple iPod touch is being sold with a similar plastic container covered by a transparent top. The Apple iPhone 5C (if that is indeed the real name) will feature plastic backplates with plastic chassis and other plastic parts to help lower the price point. The good thing about this is that it may have various colours to choose from, which could also be what the C in iPhone 5C stands for as in "Colors". According to rumours, the Apple iPhone 5C and Apple iPhone 5S will be announced on 18 September but launched on 27 September 2013.

The Sony Xperia i1 Honami was recently spotted pictured side by side with the Sony Xperia Z. While the overall look and feel seems similar enough the Honami looks just a bit wider and longer than the Xperia Z. Tech specs for the Sony Xperia Honami include a 20MP camera and 5-inch Full HD 1080p display. Other images include the camera app, this time in English.

After making time for a photo session with the Sony Xperia Z, the Sony Xperia Honami was also recently spotted in a confidentiality request letter to the Federal Communications Commission of the US. According to the report, the Sony Xperia Honami has been confirmed but Sony has asked that the user manual, test setup photos, external photos and internal photos be kept confidential until 30 September 2013. This almost confirms previous rumours that the upcoming Sony cameraphone is going to be announced at the IFA 2013 on 4 September 2013.
