LG Electronics has just announced their new LG KizON smart wristband to help parents keep track of their kids. The device uses both GPS and WiFi to track kids wearing the device while also providing kids with a way to communicate with their parents through the One Step Direct Call feature. This feature uses a simple single button which calls a pre-configured phone number (usually the parents). The communication is two way as the device can also receive calls from pre-configured numbers and if the child fails to answer within 10 seconds, the device will automatically connect the call and activate the built-in microphone.

Samsung Malaysia recently announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range of tablets with the consumer release set for 11 July 2014. In conjunction with that, Samsung Malaysia are offering RM500 rebates for Samsung Galaxy Life users who get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets from either one of 2 Samsung Experience Stores. These stores include the Samsung Experience Store at The Gardens Mall on Level 3 and the Samsung Experience Store at Gurney Paragon Mall Penang on Level 6. The RM500 rebate should help Galaxy Tab S fans get a hold of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 which retails at RM1699 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 which is going for RM1999.

Celcom recently announced several new offers and deals for the Apple iPhone 5S. The first deal allows you to get 2 Apple iPhone 5s smartphones with the first smartphone from RM388 and the second from RM1188. This deal is valid until 31 August 2014 or while stocks last but it is only applicable to loyal Celcom subscribers who have been using Celcom for more than 24 months with a monthly spending amount of at least RM50. They also have to have a good payment record for the most recent 3 months and you will have to sign up for a new number. ZTE recently announced their new ZTE Nubia Z7 range of smartphones which includes the Nubia Z7, the Nubia Z7 Max and Nubia Z7 Mini. The most notable feature is that the Nubia Z7 packs in a 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution while the Nubia Z7 Max packs in the same sized 5.5-inch screen but with just full HD 1080p pixel resolution. According to it's distributor Brightstar, the Motorola Moto G LTE smartphone will be coming to Malaysia as soon as 11 July 2014 (this Friday). The smartphone will have the same tech specs as the Motorola Moto G except that it has 8GB of storage along with support for 4G LTE connectivity. Pricing is expected to be at RM799 which is just RM1 less than the RM798 priced 16GB Motorola Moto G. This would mean that the tech specs for the Moto G LTE would include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, support for a microSD, a 4.5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution, 5MP rear camera and 2070 mAh battery. Accessories such as the Flip cover will go for RM129 while the Cover Shell will sell for RM69.

Confirming rumours and appearances at the recent Computex 2014, ASUS have officially announced the ASUS PadFone S and an ASUS ZenFone 5 with 4G LTE capabilities. A refresh of the earlier released ASUS PadFone X, the ASUS PadFone S now offers a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, wireless charging and a splash-proof coating. It still retains the same sleek features of a 5-inch smartphone and 9-inch tablet dock along with Android 4.4 KitKat. The 4G LTE ASUS ZenFone 5 on the other hand gets a different processor altogether. Unlike other ZenFone smartphones, this version is running a 1.2GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB storage, 5-inch display with 720p pixel resolution 8MP PixelMaster rear camera and 2110 mAh battery. It will come with support for 4G LTE and Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box. Both the PadFone S and 4G LTE ZenFone 5 are set for release in Taiwan for now, with the PadFone S going for about $500 (RM1588) while the 4G LTE ZenFone 5 is going for $234 (RM743). No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we expect the 4G LTE ZenFone 5 to come soon so stay tuned for more information.

The Apple iPhone 6 has been rumoured to use sapphire crystal displays for better durability and also get a screen size increase to 4.7-inches. Apparently, the folks at MKBHD along with Sonny Dickson managed to get their hands on what appears to be this 4.7-inch sapphire crystal display for the Apple iPhone 6. They then went on to do a torture test which includes trying to scratch it with a knife, keys and bend it. All of these did nothing to the panel but do check out the videos for yourself in this article.

Sony is joining the selfie bandwagon with the official announcement of the Sony Xperia C3 smartphone. While it has tech specs that slot it into the midrange market, the most notable features include a 5MP front camera complete with LED flash. Like some other selfie cameraphones, the Xperia C3 front camera is wide angle and features a Superior Auto mode for automatic enhancement, portrait retouch, Timeshift-burst and sweep panorama. Other selfie features include a double tap rear control which triggers the camera and a smile shutter feature which takes the shot when you smile. Other tech specs include the following:

LG Electronics has announced the global launch of their LG G Pad 10.1 tablet. This means that the tablet could be coming to Malaysia soon and it will be bringing many features normally found on the LG G3 which is LG's latest flagship smartphone. These features include:

• Touch & Shoot: Tapping anywhere on the display will focus and activate the shutter in a single step, saving time and that once-in-a-lifetime shot.
• Gesture Shot for Selfies: Simply clenching the free hand into a fist within the shot frame will automatically begin a three-second countdown before snapping the picture for a blur-free photo.
• Smart Keyboard: Reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type.
• Dual Window: Splits the tablet screen and runs two applications at the same time, dragging and dropping content from one window to the other for effortless multitasking.

Xiaomi Malaysia will be selling their new Xiaomi Redmi 1S tomorrow, with a batch of 5000 units starting from 12pm on 8 July 2014. Keeping the smartphone company will be 10000 units of Xiaomi Mi-3 smartphones, 10000 units of 10400 mAh Mi Power Banks and 5000 units of 5200 mAh Mi Power Banks as well. Tech specs for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S are quite competitive with a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.7-inch 720p display and 8MP rear camera at just RM419. However, unlike the Huawei Honor 3C, the Redmi 1S will only offer a 1.3MP front camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Note will be coming 22 July 2014 at RM509.
