When Samsung first announced their 8 core Exynos 5 Octa processor we were quite enthusiastic. Imagine, a more powerful processor that combines best of class performance with great power efficiency. The fact that Samsung have used both this processor and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 in their Samsung Galaxy S4 means that we can make a more focused comparison between the two processors. On one hand, the Exynos 5 Octa has already proven that it is more powerful, however, does it achieve what it initially claimed, as in better power efficiency? Check out the graphs below:

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is currently one of the best smartphones in the world. One would think that makes it easy to choose, however, the Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes in 3 different versions. Malaysia has two of these versions to choose from, the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505. The AnTuTu Benchmarks are quickly becoming one of the places to go to for the latest appearances of as yet unannounced smartphones. This time around it is the Samsung Galaxy Note III which makes an appearance and what an appearance it is. Delivering a blazing AnTuTu score of 27914 this device was called the GT-N7200, which matches with current naming conventions for the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Just to put it in perspective, the Exynos 5 Octa powered Samsung Galaxy S4 regularly gets a score of 27000+ on the AnTuTu benchmark site so you can just imagine how much power you're getting underneath the hood for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III.

When the Sony Xperia Z first came out one of it's main features that let it stand out from the crowd was it's IP57 water and dust resistant certification. This meant you could wash the Sony Xperia Z, have it fall into hot soup and still work fine. A lot of creative testing was done, from dipping and freezing it in chocolate to cooking it in the hotpot and in all cases the Sony Xperia Z came out working fine. AnTuTu is a benchmark app that posts the scores of various smartphones, tablets and similar devices online. So when a mystery Samsung device posts with the model number GT-P5200 gets AnTuTu scores of 24616, scores which are on the same level as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 based Samsung Galaxy S4, you can bet that we'll take notice. Now, bear in mind that this is a recent happening and that Samsung just don't use the GT-PXXXX naming convention anymore means several things.

Considering the HTC One's elegant aluminum unibody design it seems hard to put it through such punishment, but one user did just that, bringing a hammer, knife and key to it. As expected of the scratch resistant screen, it didn't really get damaged by any of the three, and the tough aluminum unibody chassis also didn't dent all that readily. However, this time the torture test was more thorough and exposed the weaknesses of the back and chamfered sides of the aluminum unibody design.

Watching expensive smartphones fall is usually a nightmare most people don't want to see, but with the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV we now have it in not one but two drop tests against the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Samsung have defended and stood by their decision to continue using a plastic polycarbonate body for the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV but have upped the protection for the display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen which recently proved it was as scratch proof as it could possibly be.

Practically all of the major telcos have already come out with their bundle plans for the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV. While not totally unexpected, all of them are offering the Non-LTE enabled Exynos 5 Octa powered Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV or I9500. The estimated RRP for this model is at RM2199. According to some telcos the LTE-enabled version or I9505 is coming soon, perhaps to be offered with a suitable LTE bundle plan.
