Now that the HTC One has made a path for HTC, rumours have surfaced about a possible mid-range smartphone based on the HTC One called the HTC M4. The HTC M4 will supposedly have a metal-alloy chassis supplied by Catcher Technology. This may eliminate supply problems the company had with the HTC One. The HTC M4 also goes as the HTC 606w in China where it has been confirmed to exist via an approval from the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Centre in China with tech specs such as the following:
- Dual-core Krait 200 processor
- Snapdragon 400 Chipset
- 1GB RAM
- Adreno 305 graphics
- 4.3-inch 720p screen
- UltraPixel rear camera + 1.6MP front camera
- Android 4.1.2 + Sense 5
- 16GB of storage
- Supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS, dual SIM

Huawei represents the more well-known bunch of Chinese smartphone manufacturers and it stands to reason that eventually they'd come up with a design different from the normal run-of-the-mill plastic. Following in the footsteps of the HTC One and Nokia's Catwalk, Huawei is rumoured to have come out with the Huawei EDGE which features an awesome slim aluminum body.

Overall, it is good to see HTC on the up and up, as it gives them the time to come up with patents such as this dual-screen slider smartphone patent. Rather than have a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, the patent shows a device where a second screen slides out to fit with the existing screen and form one unified display.

Some casing molds for the Apple iPad 5 have cropped up and look to confirm earlier rumours that the Apple iPad 5 will have a narrower, smaller bezel design much like the Apple iPad mini. due to the curvature of the casing mold it also confirms that the Apple iPad 5 will also be thinner and therefore probably lighter than previous iPad versions.

Nokia are looking to increase coverage of their Windows Phone 8 smartphones by also introducing Lumia Phablets or phone tablets. Building upon the 5.5-inch and above phablet form factor that Samsung has created, the Lumia phablet will supposedly have more advanced specs than Samsung's Galaxy Note (no news if this refers to the Note I or the Note II). One of these features may also include a HD display which Nokia was earlier rumoured to be developing for their smartphones.

If you've been following us, you'll know that Facebook has released Facebook Home, it's app launcher for Android smartphones. While the initial release was for the US market back on 12 April 2013, the app has finally made it's way to other markets, including Malaysia. All you need to do to get it is to go to the Google Play Store and download it. Do remember that you probably need to have the Facebook for Android app and Facebook Messenger app already installed.

EA (Electronic Arts) Sports recently announced that the latest iteration of their FIFA footbal game, FIFA 14 is coming soon. Building upon the already realistic engine from the previous FIFA game, FIFA 14 introduces a number new and improved features. These features include:
- Real Ball Physics ~ Allows for different real-life trajectories the ball may take when struck in different ways allowing for a number of specific finesses shots such as dipping shots, rising shots as well as swerving shots.
- Pure Shot ~ in-game playetrs are smarter now and can re-adjust their stride or approach angle for the best position to strike the ball, which means you won't be playing with mindless drones any more.

Practically every telco is coming out with their preregistration plan for the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV. Celcom is no different as we discovered a listing for the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV under the devices available for Celcom. While the link seems to still be undergoing work (links to the Samsung Galaxy S III instead of it's own Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV) it does list the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV model being released by Celcom as the Exynos 5 Octa version. Maxis recently released a Hotlink Social Edition SIM pack that offers Free unlimited usage of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp. These social media services are on top of existing Hotlink services along with all day data of up to 50MB. However, to get the Social Media access for Facebook and Twitter you have to either use a Facebook Java App or go through browsers using m.facebook.com, m.twitter.com and pic.twitter.com.

While everyone else is still speculating on the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 / S IV, DiGi have revealed that they may be in the know with a pre-order for the smartphone starting from RM1199. Granted this is a subsidized price under a 24 month contract for the DG SmartPlan 148. The point is that this subsidized price is dropped from an RRP of RM2199, about RM200 less from earlier estimates, RM100 lower than the HTC One under the same DiGi pre-order plan and even lower than the Singapore price (RM2450).
