Following the release of their flagship Sony Xperia Z, Sony has released the Xperia L. This mid-range smartphone was designed as the upgrade for the Xperia U and while it features many of the same tech specs it comes with a larger screen along with a better camera. Tech specs for the Sony Xperia L include:
- 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 4.3-inch TFT screen (854 x 480 pixel resolution)
- 8GB of storage + microSD slot
- 8MP camera (Exmor RS sensor, HDR video recording)
- 1900 mAh battery
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

Taking advantage of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone's awesome processing potential, Samsung have also released a Bluetooth Wireless gaming controller along with it. While last year's Samsung Galaxy S3 was more than enough to handle even today's Android 3D first person shooters, the much more powerful Samsung Galaxy S4 should appeal to the gamer looking for a smartphone. As such, it only seems apt that there is a gaming controller for it as well.

The next step in smart devices seem to be the wearable ones, with many saying that Apple's next big thing is going to be an "iWatch". However, Samsung have also reiterated that they will also come out with a smartwatch or similar device as well. In a Bloomberg report, Samsung VP Lee Young Hee was quoted as "We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them."

Those looking to get their hands on a fresh and powerful HTC One smartphone may have to wait a little while longer as component shortages are causing delays in available stock. According to HTC this was because certain component suppliers didn't keep up their end of the deal, instead prioritizing on other brands and clients. According to them it was because shipment forecasts for HTC haven't been very good and as such, said component suppliers lowered down HTC's status down a tier or two. The components that seem to be short include the camera components (a deal breaker for the HTC One's Ultra-pixel cameras) and the metal casings.

Recently seen out in the wild is the Canon EOS Kiss X7 which looks to be a smaller and lighter version of Canon's EOS Rebel DSLR lineup. While the size looks about to be the same as the Rebel T4i, the Canon EOS Kiss X7 may have a slightly more ergonomic look and shape to it. As it is, specs for this new model include:

- 18MP sensor
- DIGIC 5 processor

Those looking to make their decisions to buy a Samsung Galaxy S4 based on its ability to handle Qi wireless charging should now rest easy as the Wireless Power Consortium has confirmed that the smartphone is now compatible. While you won't be able to charge your brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 straight out of the box onto your Qi wireless charger, you can charge the smartphone this way by getting an optional back battery cover and wireless charging pads.

Recently, Microsoft announced that it will stop support for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5 by the year 2014. According to them, Windows Phone 8 support will stop on 8 July 2014 while Windows Phone 7.5 support will stop on 9 September 2014. For users who have already purchased a Windows Phone 8 or Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone that leaves Microsoft support of just another 18 months.

Quite a few people are waiting to see what Google have in store for us with their new-and-upcoming Nexus 5. Recent reports have stated that the Nexus 5 may use Nikon camera technology. The reports are rather vague on which technology is being used exactly except for the fact that it may use a triple sensor array. Whether or not this refers to a mini 3CCD Nikon sensor remains ambiguous but the reports claim that it is to be one of the main draws for the Nexus 5. While it isn't an ultra-pixel camera sensor like the one inside the HTC One, such a technology could mean a much better camera equipped smartphone for Google (provided the lens is equal as well).

For those of you who like a little bit more pink in your life, Samsung's Galaxy Note II pink limited edition version has arrived. In terms of Tech specs, this pink Samsung Galaxy Note II doesn't seem to have any other new features. Same 5.5" Super Amoled display, same S pen capability. At least the S pen that comes with this new pink version is also cotton candy coloured as well.
This new pink Samsung Galaxy Note II is available in Malaysia at most standard retail stores. However, just in case, give it a few more days for stock to arrive, but if you're determined to get your pink powered Samsung Galaxy Note II now, do head out for the larger Samsung stores and distributors for a better chance at snagging one.[ Read More ]
