We're just one day away from Vivo revealing the Xplay 5, and it has caused quite a stir by announcing being the first in the world to feature a 6B RAM inside the hood. Vivo isn't done teasing us though, as they recently released a video showing how fast the smartphone can be by comparing it with an Apple iPhone 6s on the right and an old Xplay model on the left.

Optical Image Stabilization or OIS is often the key feature which lets you take steady shots and videos with your smartphone. However, the Xiaomi Mi 5 now offers a new 16MP rear camera with 4-axis stabilization to go with other high-end tech specs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This anti-shake feature goes head-to-head with the OIS and smart digital stabilization in the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in the video below. Check it out to see which one stays steadier.

We've seen quite a few add-on jelly lens that you can either seal on or clip on to a smartphone but ExoLens takes it a step further by offering a wide-angle, telephoto and macro add on lens using Zeiss optics. Quite obviously, the add-on lenses are much larger than your average jelly lens, but the frame is also suitably larger as well and can be mounted on a standard tripod stand. So far, it is just for the Apple iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 6 and 6 Plus but there are plans for a Samsung Galaxy phone version as well. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but ExoLens should be available in Q2 2016 at $299 (RM1322) for the macro and wide-angle lens or $199 (RM880) for the telephoto lens.

If you’re wondering what’s that big fat iPhone cover on the image, well that’d be the new iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case by Apple. They have quietly launched it in their online store and it costs $99 (RM421.67).
Coming in Charcoal Gray and White colour options, inserting the Apple iPhone 6s into the charger will automatically display an intelligent battery status on the smartphone’s lock screen and in the Notification Center, it also increases the talk time by up to 25 hours, 18 hours on internet usage, and even longer audio and video playback. We don’t know how much mAh is that, but that’s seriously a lot of power.

Recently a new research report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo surfaced, with plans about Apple’s 2016 iPhone launches, including the rumoured A9-based 4-inch iPhone and a 3GB RAM iPhone 7 Plus.
According to this report Apple has a new 4-inch iPhone in the making that has a similar design to the iPhone 5s. Although equipped with an A9 processor, it will not include 3D Touch support like the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This is to keep the two products as their own. Apple aims to release the new product in the first half next year and could ship 20-30 million units through the end of 2016.

After the various midnight launches last night, the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now officially available in Malaysia. Yesterday we did manage to handle both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus and both feel as slim and premium as the previous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The major difference here is that only the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have gold and rose gold colour options, the other smartphones, including the iPhone 5s only come in silver and space grey. Pricing remains the same despite the ringgit stabilizing somewhat at RM4.18 against 1 USD. This probably means we'll have to see a drop back to the previous RM3.5 or RM3.3 levels for Apple to reduce the pricing further. Regardless, you can get the latest and most expensive Apple iPhone now from the Apple Store Malaysia or check out our phone comparison tool for a plan which might suit your needs or budget.
