After requests from our TechNavers we recently tried out the 4K video recording capabilities of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL. Featuring both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom also offers up to 12x zoom (5x zoom in video recording mode), a dual rear camera with a dual Pixel camera sensor, 5000 mAh battery and more for just RM2099. The current pricing has dropped somewhat below RM1.9K though, which should make the ZenFone 3 Zoom even more of a flagship killer. After having some fun with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom engineering sample we managed to get some time with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL production unit which is coming to Malaysia in black for RM2099. Today, ASUS Malaysia has just announced the anticipated ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) is now officially available in Malaysia! Available in Navy Black for RM2099 only, the world’s slimmest and lightest 5.5-inch smartphone with a high-capacity 5000mAh battery and also ASUS’s first dual-camera smartphone. Ahead of it's upcoming rumoured release, a DirectD listing has revealed that the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL could cost RM2099 here in Malaysia. The first ASUS ZenFone to utilize SuperPixel technology with a Dual-Pixel dual rear camera that has up to 12X zoom, the listing has the ZenFone 3 Zoom ZE553KL available in a stylish black with 1 year warranty. DirectD says that the Malaysia release date is tomorrow so you can buy it from DirectD now, offering flagship killer pricing.

A media invite for an ASUS event recently got circulated revealing the release date of what we assume to be the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom for Malaysia which could be sometime from April till March 2017. We recently managed to get some time with an engineering sample of the new ZenFone and even though it still wasn't the production unit it still managed to wow us with its dual Pixel, dual rear cameras, 2.3x optical zoom and 5 day battery life. The new ZenFone 3 Zoom is expected to come in black and we're looking forward to what the full production unit can do. Today, ASUS Malaysia is pleased to announce that the ASUS ZenFone 3 series – ZE520KL and ZE552KL variants – are now available for Android 7.0 Nougat updates! The updates can be found via OTA (over-the-air) and we suggest all end-users to check it manually inside your settings. You will also need at least 1.5GB free space to update your smartphone. ASUS is finally starting its Android Nougat update rollout. They are kicking it off with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe, but it’s for the smaller 5.5-inch (ZS550KL) model for now.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 range of smartphones looks to be getting the complete set as a leaked image of the ZenFone 3 Go was recently revealed. According to sources, the ZenFone 3 Go will have a metal body, front LED flash, dual mics and be powered by a Qualcomm snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM. Other tech specs include a 5-inch 720p display, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera but the main kicker is that it could be priced at about $160 (~RM712).

The dual rear camera and dual pixel enabled ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom got officially announced in Taiwan with pricing details for the 4GB RAM version starting from TWD$14,990 (~RM2160). No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but at this pricing and the features we uncovered with our hands-on videos, we expect the ZenFone 3 Zoom to be a fairly solid flagship killer.
