Previously, we wrote about how Celcom and Digi have finally removed the 5G Booster charging fee on their platforms. However, that didn't really turn out to be the case for lower-tier plans such as Digi 40 and Xpax Postpaid 60. So over the weekend, CelcomDigi has silently removed the 5G fee on those plans.

Update - Despite the removal on their websites, CelcomDigi has told the media that Digi Postpaid 40 and Xpax Postpaid 60 still require 5G access as an add-on purchase
It's been two weeks since our Minister of Communication, Fahmi Fadzil announced no more extra charges for 5G services. So far, all the telcos have initiated the move except for CelcomDigi until now. After checking out both Celcom and Digi's websites, the 5G Booster fee has indeed been removed.

In 2022, Celcom and Digi began talks to merge the two companies, that would eventually become CelcomDigi. Hoping to utilize the best of both telcos, initial signs indicated that there was some improvement but lately, quite a few CelcomDigi users from our Facebook page have said that it has become worse since their merger. On paper, pulling all the resources from both sides should make the mobile internet experience better but it became the opposite instead.
