For Apple fans who are expecting the iPhone 12 series to feature a USB-C charging port instead of a Lightning port, you might need to stop wishing for it. It is said that the iPhone 12 series would still be using the Lightning port, but it will be the last series to have it. According to a tipster named Fudge on Twitter, the successors of the iPhone 12 series will go 'portless', which means that the devices will mainly depend on wireless charging to get powered up.

Based on a statement by the EU Parliament, it seems that Apple might be required to ditch their proprietary Lightning connector in favour for a more commonly used connector which is the USB Type-C connector. The iPhone manufacturer will be required to adopt the new standard latest by July, this year.

Can you imagine the time we used to have 30 types of charging ports back in 2019? If they haven’t been reduced to only three types now which are USB Type-C, micro-USB, and Apple’s lightning port, our living room would be filled with God knows how many cables. For years, the European Commission has been pushing for a single charging method for mobile devices, even for Apple’s devices as well. Now, the commission is planning to propose a new law to unify the charging method in the countries.

Celcom Axiata Berhad have announced their Lightning Fast LTE network utilizing 4-transmit-4-receiver (4T4R) technology for 4x4 multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) mobile devices in Malaysia. The Lightning Fast LTE is the first in Malaysia to improve the current 4G mobile services with up to 300Mbps speeds to LTE Advanced Pro and eventually 5G networks, so you can go beyond 400Mbpps (up to 480Mbps). This will begin from August 2017, starting from the Klang Valley.
