It seems that a report by TechnikNews seems to hint that 3 of Motorola’s upcoming smartphones are expected to come equipped with up to a 108MP main camera at the rear. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is officially available in the local market.

In the past two years, more and more smartphones are being equipped with high megapixel camera sensors up to 108MP. In fact, it has even made its way to budget-friendly devices such as the Redmi Note 10 Pro. This proved that customers no longer need to spend a lot to get a camera with high megapixels, but is it overrated? 

Samsung have officially announced their Samsung Exynos 980 chipset today utilizing an 8nm fabrication process and utilizing a built-in 5G modem, an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for AI-powered tasks and an ISP (Image Signal Processor) that can support up to 108MP single and 20MP + 20MP dual camera sensors. Powered by an Octa-core CPU consisting of 2x ARM Cortex A77 cores and 6x Cortex A55 cores, there is still no news yet which Samsung device will utilize it, but it has an Arm Mali G76 MP5 GPU for faster graphics and gaming.

During the Xiaomi Future Image Technology Communication conference in Beijing, China earlier today. Xiaomi has made a rather big announcement, stating there is a big possibility that they will be releasing a smartphone equipped with a 108MP image sensor manufactured by Samsung. The sensor is capable of churning out images with a resolution of up to 12032 x 9024 pixels.
