Based on bbc.com, it seems that the amount donated by TikTok is considered one of the largest contributions received from a social media company to date.

The method in which they acquire such information is by tricking the users to download a software which is embedded with a malware called AZORult, which collects information from web browsers such as cookies, user ID, passwords and more.
