After Celcom introduced their special Internet pass for students who are taking either SPM or STPM this year, Digi has announced theirs as well. Digi's Internet pass will be offering students the same thing that is 15GB of high-speed internet with a 30-day validity period priced at RM20.

Recently at the government's meeting in the Malaysia Houses of Parliament, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said that they will be ready to launch 5G connectivity by the end of 2022 or early 2023. He stated that there would be no plans to launch until they have a clear and detailed plan for the objective.

It seems that Maxis briefly unveiled the VoLTE feature on their official website, showcasing the features and benefits the technology provides such as high-quality calls, fast call setup, as well as seamless switching between voice and video calls. As we still have a long way to go to 5G connectivity, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin just recently announced that the government is preparing at least 500 new communication towers across the nation to strengthen 4G connectivity instead. He also said that this initiative is to provide wider and better quality coverage.

We may no longer be able to complain about the lack of 4G coverage in the future. The government is planning to build a national digital network called Jalinan Digital Negara, otherwise known as Jendela, which aims to provide a central 4G mobile broadband network to populated areas.
