Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the Malaysia Digital Blueprint 2030 (MD2030) today, a national plan to transition the country from a technology consumer into a creator of local innovations. Led by the Ministry of Digital, the initiative aims to establish an "AI Nation" by 2030, targeting a 30% digital economy contribution to GDP, 500,000 high-value tech jobs, RM4.5 billion in public sector savings, and 95% of government services online.

Malaysia is continuing its push toward becoming a regional digital and artificial intelligence hub despite ongoing global economic uncertainty. Speaking at the FutureX Venture Fest 2026 on 12 May 2026, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the country remains committed to its goal of becoming an AI nation by 2030.
