Intel Malaysia recently held a #GoFaster event to showcase their plans and outlook for tablet and smartphone processors in 2014 to 2015. George Chacko, Regional Director of Tablet Product Marketing at Intel APAC was on hand to provide this information in detail. While nothing new was really revealed, it did show everything Intel has planned for the rest of the year and next year. These Intel technologies and systems include 64-bit processors, Intel 4G LTE Cat6 connectivity, the upcoming 14nm Cherry Trail processors and the SoFIA integrated processors. Both the Cherry Trail and SoFIA processors are set for 2015 but it should bring about, faster, more connected and more affordable devices in the new year. Other notable technologies on the way to Intel powered tablets and smartphones include wireless charging, eye scanning biometrics and RealSense cameras. While there aren't any specific Malaysia release dates or pricing for upcoming Intel powered tablets and smartphones, Intel are working closely with all the big names including ASUS, Lenovo, Acer and much more. For those not in the know:
- Cherry Trail is the next architecture for Intel mobile processors which will use a 14nm fabrication process. The current architecture uses a 22nm process, so with the smaller fabrication, Intel can pack in more for better graphics and better energy efficient processors.
- SoFIA processors will integrate 3G and 4G LTE Cat6 connectivity into the processor itself, making it simpler to design and make a connected tablet or smartphone while also cutting costs. It should also help make connectivity on the go faster.
- RealSense cameras not only capture images they also capture depth like a real human eye allowing it to accurately measure what it sees. This set for use in better gesture controls but could also be useful in augmented reality as well.

No specific details on Malaysia release dates yet, but it should be soon.

The ASUS MeMo Pad 8 ME181C remains the world's first 64-bit Android tablet and we've been getting quite a few leaks recently as to the performance and tech specs for this tablet. Truth be told we were quite curious how the real life performance of the tablet really is and our Anonymous tipster obliged with some screenshots of Asphalt 8: Airborne and a description of his or her experience with it. According to this tipster, the performance doesn't match with the performance on the benchmarks as the game lags and stutters trying to run. This doesn't match with the performance of tablet having an AnTuTu score of 32000+ so we concluded that the firmware for the tablet still hasn't been optimized completely yet. We have noticed similar performance when trying out the engineering sample for the ASUS ZenFone 5 where the real-life performance does not match with the benchmark performance. There are also camera samples as well which show similar problems as well that you can check out for yourself below:

Our anonymous tipster strikes again with some really interesting screencaps of benchmarks for the 64-bit Intel processor powered ASUS MeMo Pad 8 ME181C tablet. Introduced earlier at Computex 2014, the tablet marks the first 64-bit processor in a device and from the tech specs listed also utilizes Intel HD Graphics for Bay Trail rather than the usual Mali or PowerVR graphics chip. The benchmarks include CPU Z, AnTuTu, 3DMark and Epic Citadel with some really high-end scores. This includes an AnTuTu score of 32485, placing it in the range of current flagship smartphones (and much higher than current tablets). It appears that the tablet is running a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display but still manages impressive performance in 3DMark and Epic Citadel. No details yet on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we expect the tablet to come here in or after August 2014. Check out the benchmarks for yourself in this article.

We recently received some admittedly blurry pictures of the ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME181C) next to the ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME180A) from an anonymous tipster. Well, said tipster has provided again, this time with some clearer hands-on like pictures. From the pictures it is clear to see that the new ASUS MeMo Pad 8 is thinner than before with and overall flatter backside thanks to no rear camera hump. The chrome trim is a nice effect and we hope the white coloured MeMo Pad 8 makes it to Malaysia soon. Still no Malaysia release dates or pricing, so stay tuned for more developments.

The 64-bit Intel processor powered ASUS MeMo Pad 8 tablets recently announced over at Computex 2014 has made an appearance. Coming courtesy of an anonymous tipster, we show pics of the new ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME181C) next to the old ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME180A). Note the slightly slimmer bezels, thinner profile and overall sleeker and more compact look. While there aren't any pics of the backside, pics during Computex 2014 revealed that the rear camera would be on the upper corner and not have a hump like the current tablet. The tipster goes on to say that while the old ASUS MeMo Pad 8 (ME180A) feels rubberized, the new ASUS MeMo Pad 8 has a ceramic feel to it. No Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet but we expect it to come in or after August 2014. Check out the pics in the article for yourself.

Now this is a rumour we really want to be true as leaked images and documents for an ASUS PadFone attached to a keyboard dock seem to indicate that we may soon get keyboard functionality with the next ASUS PadFone. The ASUS PadFone combines a smartphone with a tablet and initially came out with a keyboard dock, but this feature was not included in recent PadFone devices. Tech specs for the ASUS Mobile Dock Keyboard include a 450 mAh battery pack, bluetooth connectivity, a built-in trackpad and a full QWERTY keyboard with what appear to be island-style keys. Unfortunately, the dock does not offer any extended battery features or an extra SD card, but these features could come in future versions of the ASUS Mobile Dock Keyboard. No news how much it would cost or any specific Malaysia release dates, but we assume you'll see it with the next ASUS PadFone release. While the returning keyboard dock is great news, we'd be even more thrilled if ASUS would just go and make keyboard docks for all of their tablet range including the ASUS FonePad and MeMo Pad tablets.

In recently leaked slides from an Asus presentation it has been revealed that the company may be releasing a number of new devices. These include the Asus PadFone Mini which aims at Asus existing smartphone in a tablet convertible. The name suggests that it will be going for a smaller size, perhaps allowing you to own a compact smartphone and an oversized tablet in one go. Other devices of note include the Asus MeMo Pad HD 8 which looks to bridge the gap between the current 7-inch and 10-inch Asus tablets with an 8-inch tablet. The other interesting device will be theAsus MeMoFone HD 5 which looks to be a standalone 5-inch smartphone. Tech specs for this device include a 720 x 1280 resolution 5-inch display.
