ASUS recently posted on their ROG Twitter account, mentioning that the ROG Phone 2 will be receiving the Android 10 update very soon. However, the tweet did not mention the official date the over-the-air update will hit the aforementioned device as well as which region will be getting it first.

ASUS Malaysia has officially confirmed that the ASUS ROG Phone 2 Strix Edition will be available in Malaysia, and it will be priced at RM2499. In terms of the availability date, you can get your hands on the aforementioned smartphone very soon.

In conjunction with ASUS’ re-opening of their ROG concept store in Plaza Lowyat which is happening on 13 Friday 2019, ASUS will be giving away various ASUS merchandise ranging from ROG themed umbrellas to ROG stickers. They’re also handing out a free ROG hoodie and a free 4GB RAM upgrade for selected ROG and TUF laptop if you purchase any TUF or ROG gaming laptop or smartphone from the day of the re-opening until 15 December 2019.

Shopee has announced that there will be a second round of pre-orders, which will be happening on 15 October 2019 at 12:01AM. Similar to the first round of pre-orders, you need to put in a non-refundable deposit of RM999 on Shopee’s official website. Shopee has announced that they will be taking in pre-orders for the ASUS ROG Phone 2 two days before the actual launch date, which is expected to be unveiled on 16 October 2019. ASUS recently posted an announcement on their Facebook page, stating that the ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be available in Malaysia starting on 16 October 2019. Based on what we have covered previously, the aforementioned smartphone is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage.

ASUS has recently unveiled a list of games which supports more than 60fps on the ROG Phone 2, most of which can be found on the Google Play Store. To the uninitiated, the ROG Phone 2’s display panel is capable of going as high as 120Hz, which is equivalent to displaying up to 120 frames-per-second.
