ASUS ViVoTab Note 8 announced with digitizer stylus and Windows 8.1

The number of Windows 8.1 tablets continues to grow with the latest ASUS VivoTab Note 8 tablet. Featuring tech specs which include a Wacom digitizer stylus, quad-core Intel Atom Z3740 processor, 8-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, up to 64GB storage with up to 64GB microSD support and a 5MP rear camera wtih HD front camera, the tablet is aimed at the stylus using tablet user. A 15.5 Whr battery rounds the tech specs up with the tablet weighing in at 380g and the usual free Office software supplement. ASUS are also bundling unlimited ASUS WebStorage for 1 year along with it.

While there isn't any pricing or Malaysia release dates just yet we expect it to hit Malaysia soon within Q1 of 2014. Other tech specs of note include two large rear stereo speakers with SonicMaster audio so the VivoTab Note 8 should sound pretty good too. The tech specs look rather upper end, but the pricing is quite good from $299 (RM982) for the 32GB version. The digitizer stylus gives the VivoTab Note 8 more precision and should be a great mobile tablet for the designer and student or business note taker out there. Rumours: Asus VivoTab Note 8 leaked, comes with stylus and Windows 8.1

The 8-inch tablet market continues to grow, this time with an entry from Asus, leaked as the Asus VivoTab Note 8 M80TA. Leaked from a catalogue and priced at a very attractive $299.00 (RM980) the tablet comes with a pen stylus along with Windows 8.1. Other tech specs and features include a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Bay Trail processor and chipset, 2GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB flash storage, 8-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 5MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera and 3950 mAh battery. Many of the features seem to be recycled from the Asus MeMo Pad HD 7 and there is no guarantee that by the time it reaches Malaysia the price won't increase past RM1000 somehow. So far, there doesn't seem to be any information regarding any affordable keyboard dock combo which would make it a much better contender for the other 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablets out there, but we're still waiting hopefully for something like to happen. No specific Malaysia release dates were available but it is rumoured to arrive during the holiday season, probably after Christmas. Do remember though that this is still very much a rumour, so take it with a pinch of salt.
