Earlier this week, Apple released new versions of iOS, tvOS, and iPadOS. Version 14.5 bring a few improvements to the table, but the one many are eyeing would be the App Tracking Transparency. Users probably love it, but brands? Not so much.

Yikes, 47 mobile game apps have been reported to be malicious and they are still on the Google Play Store. The latest finding was done by Avast alongside Apklab.io and although Google is investigating this, it may be too late for those who have downloaded the app. 

It's been some time since Instagram first launched IGTV, a separate app for longer videos, and it looks like the company is now looking to cash in. Yup, Instagram has announced that ads will be coming to IGTV. But the good news for some is that the company is willing to share the revenue.

Based on a blog entry posted on the Chromium Blog, Google will remove ads that hogs too much of the device’s system resource, making the user experience much more enjoyable especially for those with limited internet data. This is due to the fact that Google recently discovered that some of the ads use up much more battery and bandwidth than usual, which can be a problem especially for those who signed up with telco that provides very limited internet data.

Based on source code found by XDA Developers, it seems that Google plans to introduce an option for viewers to watch ads in order to unlock movies. While we have no exact numbers on how many movies can be unlocked, the source code hints that there could be several hundreds of movies available as soon as the feature goes live.

While Facebook can be pretty annoying on showing you ads about something you just talked about, the company have decided that they enforce a temporary ban on ads of medical masks. This is to prevent exploitation by groups or individuals in the wake of COVID-19.

Ads on your mobile phone are one of the most annoying things to encounter. If you're using apps for free, there's a good chance that you will be greeted by an advertisement every few minutes (just like YouTube's two ads policy in longer videos /rolleyes). However, Apple is trying out something new and depending on how your point of view is, it may be a good or bad thing.

This can happen even for short videos, which gets annoying. Now, it looks like Google wants to start putting a stop to that by setting up restrictions.

Google has just shared their plans to push more ads onto its mobile platforms. The ads will be made more accessible for the audience so that they may find more information about the product easily. This feature is named Discovery ads and will be out on both Android and iOS globally later this year.

If you do not like the presence of ads in the Android apps you download from the Google Play store, the next time you want to download an app, look out in the descriptions. Google recently activated a feature that tells if the app you are downloading comes with ads or not.
