  • HTC One (M8) coming to Malaysia by end of April 2014

HTC One (M8) coming to Malaysia by end of April 2014

The latest version of the HTC One (M8) may well be the one device that saves HTC completely, however, it appears that it may be too little too late for users in Malaysia. With the Samsung Galaxy S5 set for a 27 March 2014 launch tomorrow, HTC Malaysia are still unsure as to when we'll see the new HTC One (M8) here. While the HTC One (M8) was available nearly instantly over in the US and UK, HTC Malaysia say that we should expect the HTC One (M8) by the end of April 2014. They also went on to say that the HTC One (M8) would be available for all major telcos. While it could be another late entry, we're thinking that HTC Malaysia could do much with a couple HTC One (M8) smartphones and some persuasive campers placed strategically nearby the Galaxy S5 launching areas (HTC did this for the original HTC One). Still no specific Malaysia release dates just yet but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

  • HTC One 2014 (HTC M8 / All New HTC One) benchmarks score very high

HTC One 2014 (HTC M8 / All New HTC One) benchmarks score very high

As is typical right before the actual announcement, a whole bunch of new details have come out for the HTC One 2014 (HTC M8, All New HTC One). While we've already seen tech specs, features and practically confirmed pics, performance benchmarks usually come afterwards, but somehow Rightware have done just that. Showing benchmarks of the Basemark OS II and Basemark X benchmarks, the HTC One 2014 scored very well in the performance and graphics part but not so well in the browser based tests. The benchmarks also confirm a 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution display but we should know everything in a few more hours. The still unnamed HTC One 2014 is expected to be announced tomorrow but there is still no exact Malaysia release dates or pricing details just yet. Stay tuned for more information.

  • All New HTC One (HTC One 2014) passes Tenaa and reveals tech specs

All New HTC One (HTC One 2014) passes Tenaa and reveals tech specs

While we've seen any number of leaks (pictures or tech specs) about the All New HTC One or alternatively known as the HTC One 2014, it has just recently passed Tenaa from China. Coming with pictures and tech specs, this is as semi-official as it gets folks, at least until the expected HTC launch. Tech specs confirmed by Tenaa include a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB storage + microSD, 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 16MP + 4MP camera. Measuring in at 146 x 70.5 x 9.5mm and weighing in at 157g, there is some confusion with the camera details. This is because it isn't clear if the 16MP + 4MP camera sensors refers to the dual cameras on the back or the front camera. We think that both the front and back have a 4MP UltraPixel camera, while another 16MP is located on the rear. We shouldn't have too long to wait though as the All New HTC One or HTC One 2014 is expected to come on 25 March 2014.

  • Goophone M8 announced, copies HTC M8 (All New HTC One)

Goophone M8 announced, copies HTC M8 (All New HTC One)

Goophone has a tendency to create nearly identical copies of leading smartphones and this time around is no different as they officially announce their Goophone M8. Now, what other smartphone has 'M8' in it's name? Right, the HTC M8 or the still unofficially named All New HTC One. While the smartphone it is copying still hasn't been launched yet, the GooPhone M8 looks nearly identical to the original aluminum unibody design. It may not have key features like the dual-camera dual-LED flash on the backside but it does look nearly identical at a single glance. You can also get it in gold too. Tech specs for the Goophone M8 aren't bad at all with a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage + microSD, 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel display, 12.6MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera and 3G connectivity. At just $230 (RM750) this phone is for those midrange users who like the All New HTC One design but not anything else. Check out the Goophone M8 site for more information.

  • Rumours: All New HTC One (HTC One 2) pictured in gold

Rumours: All New HTC One (HTC One 2) pictured in gold

And the HTC One 2 names continue to grow. Up until this point rumours indicate that the successor to the HTC One (currently codenamed the HTC M8) could be called the HTC One 2, HTC One+, HTC One 2014 and now the "All New HTC One", except this name also comes with a press photo quality image of the upcoming smartphone in champagne gold. With both the new name and image coming from serial leaker @evleaks, it seems almost inevitable that this will be how it will look like as he is usually accurate about these things. Tech specs  and features for the "All New HTC One" include two cameras with dual-LED flash for one of them along with dual speakers and only onscreen controls. HTC has confirmed that the next flagship device would be revealed on 25 March 2014.
