They've also timed the X5Max in a movie playback battery life test against the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Granted, the iPhone 6 Plus is not the most energy efficient phone out there but do check out the video below for yourself.

  • Apple Malaysia raises iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s pricing

Apple Malaysia raises iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s pricing

Just recently, Apple Malaysia raised the local Malaysia pricing for the Apple iPhone 6Apple iPhone 6 Plus and Apple iPhone 5s. A quick look at the price reveals that the pricing has gone up by about RM150 to RM200 with no difference to tech specs or features. This is probably due to the recent drop in value for the Malaysian Ringgit against the US Dollar which is currently is $1 to RM3.71. The Apple iPhone 5c remains the same though but we don't expect many people to be happy about that either. Hopefully, if the Ringgit goes up within this year, Apple Malaysia will cut the pricing back down but for now, we expect other Malaysia online stores and Malaysian Telcos to follow soon. Check out the complete price increase listing as follows:

    • Apple iPhone 6, 16GB storage ~ RM2399 to RM2549
    • Apple iPhone 6, 64GB storage ~ RM2749 to RM2949
    • Apple iPhone 6, 128GB storage ~ RM3149 to RM3349
    • Apple iPhone 6 Plus, 16GB storage ~ RM2749 to RM2949
    • Apple iPhone 6 Plus, 64GB storage ~ RM3149 to RM3349
    • Apple iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB storage ~ RM3549 to RM3749
    • Apple iPhone 5s, 16GB storage ~ RM1999 to RM2149
    • Apple iPhone 5s, 32GB storage ~ RM2199 to RM2349
    • Apple iPhone 5c, 8GB storage ~ RM1499 (remains the same)
  • ProCam 2 app unlocks Apple iPhone's hidden 4K video shooting capability

ProCam 2 app unlocks Apple iPhone's hidden 4K video shooting capability

In a recent report, it was proved that the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have the ability to record videos in ultra-high definition 4K pixel resolution. Now, there's an app which claims to unlock this hidden feature inside the Apple's latest devices. The Cupertino giant decided to disable this feature in the new iPhones saying that it was not market ready and 4K videos do take up a lot of storage space and put undue strain on the phone's processor. Causing overheating and taking up space on a device that doesn't have expandable memory. For those who don't mind these little issues, ProCam 2 can be a great app to unlock this 4K video recording capability. The app, now available on the iTunes store, brings 4K recording to both new iPhone models. The video shown below is captured in 4K resolution at 30fps using the app. The user pans it very slowly to avoid any hiccups caused due to the low frame rate in such a high resolution video. One thing to note here is that the app does not essentially capture the video in true 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), instead it captures it in 3264 x 1836 resolution and upscales to 4K. The ProCam 2 can be bought from the Apple store for $1.99 (RM7), but to unlock 4K, you need to make an additional in-app purchase worth $4.99 (RM17.5).

  • Rumours: Apple to unveil a 4-inch iPhone in Q2 2015?

Rumours: Apple to unveil a 4-inch iPhone in Q2 2015?

Although Apple's latest releases, the Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have been popular right from the start, their older plastic sibling, the iPhone 5C hasn't seen the same popularity and may be discontinued. Be that as it may, a new report says that Apple is planning to release a smaller 4-inch display iPhone by Q2 2015. The compact form factor has always been Apple's motto, until it succumbed to consumer demand and released the new iPhone 6 models. Even the smallest device of the two, the iPhone 6, measures 4.7 inches in size, which is much bigger than any of the iPhones released to date. Given that the earlier iPhones too were quite popular among buyers, there must be a number of users who were disappointed to see a larger Apple device. According to the supply chain sources of the company, a smaller 4 inch iPhone is in the works aimed at the compact phone lovers and women who would want a phone which can be operated with just hand. Moreover, this phone can be the ideal candidate to replace the fading iPhone 5C. Unfortunately, there are no tech specs, Malaysia release dates or pricing details about this 4-inch iPhone, but make sure you check back to the website for additional information in the coming weeks.

  • Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phone 6be able to play 4K videos

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phone 6be able to play 4K videos

While both Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature resolutions less than 1920 x 1080 pixels, apparently they may be capable of playing 4K videos. Softorino, a company known for its Mac software called WALTR which helps you upload images and videos on iOS devices, recently discovered that the A8 processor in the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are capable of playing ultra-high resolution 4K videos. However, you won't be able to enjoy 4K videos on your iPhone 6 anytime soon as the resolution is 1335×750 pixels which is far lower than the 3840×2160 resolution for most 4K videos. These 4K videos also take up a lot of space, on an average 2GB per minute of video, which will decrease the internal storage on your iPhone to a considerable extent. So, even if the iPhone 6 came with a 4K display, it would be impractical to play 4K videos directly from the phone's storage due to its large size. The app makers have made a proof of concept video to show that the iPhone actually plays the 4K resolution video smoothly. Check out their video in this article.

  • Rumours: Latest Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphones may not bend as easily?

Rumours: Latest Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphones may not bend as easily?

Rumours have it that Apple may have fixed their latest batch of Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphones so that they do not bend as easily as before. According to rumours, this was discovered by a reddit user named doctorkuddles who had initially bought a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus smartphone for his wife and recently bought a new 128GB iPhone 6 Plus smartphone for himself. Upon closer inspection he discovered that his newer 128GB iPhone 6 was both heavier and more solid than the earlier bought 16GB iPhone 6 smartphone. His exact words were that he discovered a "red colored object placed in the volume down button crank". After contacting iFixit, they discovered that the latest batch of iPhone 6 Plus smartphones were 8g heavier than the first batch. While it doesn't confirm anything (at least until someone tries bending the latest batch of iPhone 6 Plus smartphones), it could mean that if you do accidentally bend your iPhone 6 Plus, you will get the fixed version as a replacement. Apple have not confirmed anything and doesn't seem like they are recalling any of their earlier released bendable iPhone 6 Plus smartphones either. While this may be good news for iPhone 6 Plus users do take this rumour with a good pinch of salt and don't go bending your smartphones intentionally.

  • Apple iPhone 6 Plus bent again with witnesses

Apple iPhone 6 Plus bent again with witnesses

Rather infamous Apple iPhone 6 Plus benders Unbox Therapy have done it again, this time out in the open, on the streets and with witnesses. Apparently tired of all the conspiracy theories, the video clearly shows that it doesn't take too much force to bend the iPhone 6 Plus and even the Motorola Moto X is brought in to show that other smartphones don't bend as easily. For those getting the iPhone 6 Plus soon or planning to get one, we recommend you get a case for it and take better care of such an expensive smartphone. For those hoping for an apology from Apple, move on, Apple have already said that they'd replace accidentally bent iPhone 6 smartphones and that should be enough for most people. Check out the video for yourself in this article.

  • Apple iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket and in your hands

Apple iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket and in your hands

Another day, another revelation about the larger and thin Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Apparently, the iPhone 6 Plus has been bending simply from being in someone's front pants pocket. This initially came from several posts in the MacRumours forums with quite a few users showing images of their bent iPhone 6 Plus. The folks at Unbox Therapy took it a step further showing that you can actually permanently bend your iPhone 6 Plus with just your bare hands. While we don't think anyone will intentionally try to bend their iPhone 6 Plus smartphone it certainly means that you should not put this thin phablet in your pocket without some form of casing to protect it.
