More than 300 bent Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus smartphones and counting

For those not in the know, the whole bendgate issue centered on how easy it was to bend the Apple iPhone 6 Plus smartphone. Apple responded that only 9 users submitted reports on a bent Apple iPhone 6 Plus. In response, a site called OneoftheNine.com popped up where users who have bent iPhone 6 Plus smartphones submit picture evidence. What is even more worrying is that it isn't just the iPhone 6 Plus, those who have bought the iPhone 6 have also reported their smartphones bending for no apparent reason (no sitting, jeans pocket, back pocket or sitting on involved). As such, we are extending our earlier recommendation for the iPhone 6 Plus to the iPhone 6 as well. Before you become someone who posts about their iPhone at OneoftheNine.com, do get a good and tough case for your Apple iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, both of which are set for Malaysia release at midnight tonight. In the meantime, check out the video in this article for more bent iPhones.

Telcos reveal Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Malaysia pricing from RM2399 and RM2749

Both Maxis and DiGi have opened up pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. • Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus now has dye and crash problems

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus now has dye and crash problems

The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus just can't seem to catch a break as more rather strange faults appear. This time, the white, plastic parts on the gold coloured iPhone 6 have apparently become dyed blue from the blue jeans pockets they were put into. Apple has said it can be removed using normal cleaning products, but afflicted users have said that this does not work. The 128GB iPhone 6 Plus on the other hand is crashing or looping continuously from a reboot. Many of these users apparently installed too many apps but this hasn't been confirmed to be the cause just yet. As per their earlier replacement policy, Apple has been replacing these crashing iPhones. While we don't want to stir up anything, we've had any number of white phones and blue jeans but no dyed blue smartphones yet, so this Dyegate problem could be just specific to the Apple iPhone 6. Our earlier recommendation remains the same though, get a casing on as soon as you get your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

  • All Apple iPhones drop tested

    All Apple iPhones drop tested

The folks at TechRax did a drop test for all of the Apple iPhone smartphones. This included a side drop and front facing drop for each iPhone onto a hard driveway, revealing that while most of the iPhones can take a beating from the side, nearly all of them smashed from the front. Granted, the front of the Apple iPhone 3G did not shatter but this was mainly due to luck as it dropped on the side first. While it doesn't seem to show any difference from beginning to end, it does show that if you're going to get any Apple iPhone, the first thing you should do is get a shock-proof casing around it quick because an accidental front drop will probably result in a shattered screen. • Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Maxis preorders happening on 10 October 2014?

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Maxis preorders happening on 10 October 2014?

While there are still no definite Malaysia release dates or pricing details for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Maxis could be planning to open pre-orders for the smartphones as soon as 10 October 2014. This comes from a teaser image posted by Maxis themselves hinting at the #nextbigthing. Traditionally, the slogan "the next big thing" originally came from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, however, the teaser image shows toast and a jar of Apple jam, so it could also be for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The reflection seems to indicate 10 while the toaster is all metal and rounded. As it is, China is expected to get the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 17 October 2014. We're still expecting the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to hit Malaysia in late October or early November 2014 though.

Apple iPhone camera sample comparison: from the first iPhone to the iPhone 6

A really dedicated photographer recently took pictures using all of the Apple iPhones from the first iPhone to the latest Apple iPhone 6 and mashed the camera samples up together in a big comparison. While many say that the iPhone takes better camera shots, the mashup clearly shows the evolution of the iPhone camera in terms of depth, resolution and colour reproduction. The photographer offers six types of shots including macro, backlit, daylight, portrait, sunset and low-light. Check it out for yourself in this article.

Comparison: Apple iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus vs iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5C and everything else

The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have already arrived in the US and other select markets. While there are no Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet, many are expecting the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to reach us in November 2014, so we still have time to decide which Apple iPhone to get. Following the iPhone lineup in the US, we estimate that for Malaysia there will be the Apple iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. For this comparison we'll see which Apple iPhone you should get as we compare the Apple iPhone 6 vs the Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs the Apple iPhone 5S vs the Apple iPhone 5C. Check out our detailed analysis in this article.

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus get drop tested

Both the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have already been released in the US and selected markets. As such, there is already a drop test for both iPhones, this time courtesy of Phonebuff. The drop test reveals that the new metal casing is definitely tough and strong, with next to no damage from the drops apart from a few scratches. However, the supposedly shatter proof glass protecting both screens... shattered, quite badly. Apple has been quite clear in that the glass covering both iPhones is not Corning Gorilla Glass. We also would like to note that the Home button for both the iPhones which is protected by sapphire crystal did not break or crack, and that the larger and heavier iPhone 6 Plus broke faster than the iPhone 6, proving that the bigger something is, the harder it will fall.
