Without a doubt, this week was the week where Apple rose to the occasion with their new jet black, waterproof, dual camera Apple iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 while the Samsung announced how to replace their recalled Galaxy Note 7 in full disclosure. You can now get the previous gen iPhone 6S Plus, 6S, SE and iPads cheaper than before and Apple also announced their waterproof 2nd-gen Apple Watch Series 2 along with their AirPods.

In true Apple fashion, right after the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus got announced, Apple Malaysia announced a price slash for the iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6S and iPhone SE. You can check back our comparison tool to see which might suit you best but the overall price slash is about RM500 for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus or RM250 for the iPhone SE.
The biggest price slash is the 128GB iPhone 6S Plus which has gone down to RM3699 from RM4699. The base model 16GB iPhone SE price remains unchanged though, but you can get the 64GB iPhone SE for RM250 less now.

U Mobile recently launched their WiFi Calling services for subscribers of their post paid and prepaid plans here in Malaysia for free, no additional charges. It turns U Mobile Network towers across Malaysia into WiFi stations allowing you to get HD Voice calls over weak mobile connections as long as you are connected to a WiFi with Internet, even your local mamak's.

This week Huawei unveiled the honor V8 with dual rear cameras, a 2K display version and the latest Kirin 950 tech specs with their RM60 honor Band A1. Xiaomi went big with their 6.44-inch display Mi Max phablet alongside their Mi Band 2 smartband. On the local side, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End launched at midnight while the Tencent QQ Watch for kids was also released. The folks at honor Malaysia also brought in their more premium honor Band SS complete with brass coloured metal body and Italian leather strap.

As rumoured, the Apple iPhone SE is now officially available at the online Apple Malaysia store. All four colours of gold, rose gold, silver and space grey are available with the 16GB storage version going for RM1949 while the 64GB version is selling for RM2449. It phases out the iPhone 5S which is now no longer available at the Apple Malaysia store.

This week, the biggest news began with the cancellation of Intel processors for mobile, effectively announcing their withdrawal from the smartphone and mobile industry, at least for now. We might see some Intel 5G LTE processors in the future, but it basically means that there will likely be no Intel powered smartphones this year.
Second biggest was the regional announcement of the Huawei P9, P9 Plus and P9 Lite, due for a Malaysia release date after May 2016. The folks at honor celebrated their 2nd Anniversary to #seastheday while Huawei continued the streak by announcing the Huawei G9 Lite and MediaPad M2 7.0.
