Yesterday, Astro confirmed that the prices for those who have Disney+ Hotstar will be revised. There was no timeline until late last night and there is good news. 

As of 1 March 2024, Sales Service Tax (SST) has gone from 6% to 8%. Although not all items are affected, this is a different case for the telecommunication service which is a category that Astro falls under. 

Yesterday evening, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (AMH) officially announced that its Go Shop business will be shut down soon. A sudden announcement for sure, but what's even more surprising is that the operation will cease on 11 October 2023.

We have written a few news about this before and it happened again. Just last Friday, the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court fined an individual, Tiew Ai Teng, 38, RM20,000 or 2 months imprisonment for selling TV boxes pre-loaded with unauthorised Astro content under Section 43AA of the Copyright Act 1987.

Today, Astro customers will have a chance to win some prizes from Astro Rewards. Astro just launched its 99 Rewards in 99 Days campaign, giving away a mystery gift every day for 99 days. Prizes include many tech gadgets and attractive goodies. 

During the weekend, Astro celebrated and launched the grand opening of its largest Astro Experience Store, located in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. The new store offers customers an experience of discovering Astro’s latest range of products and services. 

During the weekend, Astro announced that all Astro customers enjoy a free preview of 10 selected channels on TV and Astro GO. This is a gesture of appreciation for the support received at the Putra Brand Awards 2022.

Today, Astro has launched the all-new BIZfibre as a next-gen broadband service with a WiFi-6-certified router for SMEs. Powered by Astro Fibre, it was designed to complement its commercial TV Packs, offering live sports, the biggest TV shows, blockbuster movies and breaking news from a starting price of RM239. 

In conjunction with the introduction of the Disney+ Hotstar app appearing on the Astro Ulti Box, Astro is also pleased to introduce some new updates for the Ultra and Ulti Boxes, as well as Astro Go. Astro users can now make use of the Multi-User profile, thumbnail viewing, search enhancements and launching Netflix directly.

Today, Astro has finally introduced the Disney+ Hotstar app on its Astro Ulti Box. As many of you know, the app itself is not available on most smart TVs (except Android-stock ones) and other TV boxes, so it's a nice addition to the Ulti Box.
