In a collaboration between Shell Malaysia and Boost e-wallet, more than 800 Shell outlets across Malaysia will officially support payment via the Boost App starting April 2019. To give a little more information regarding the Boost E-Wallet, it is a mobile app that stores digital currency which then can be used to make purchases and payments to partnered services.

Boost has given their response on the RM2000+ theft, from an unfortunate user who is located in Kluang. The theft, which was carried out through the use of the Boost app had already been reported to the officials and it is currently under investigation. The response mentions that upon investigation, Boost did not encounter any security breach in their systems and reassures that everyone’s data is safe and secured.

Boost is a free-to-use e-wallet which allows the user to make payments through the app to all participating merchants on its platform, such as 99 Speedmart, Steam, Shopee and more. In order to do so, users are required to top-up the e-wallet using either a credit or debit card. That being said, there was an unfortunate case where a user from Kluang, Johor had up to RM2000 stolen from her through the Boost app.
