Over the years, an increasing number of people are relying on smartphones for casual photography. Mobile image sensors have improved so much, causing a decline in the use of compact cams. Now, Sony wants to improve it further with its new image sensor tech.

While higher resolution for smartphones doesn't quite make sense, the same can't be said for medium format cameras. In this area, Sony is probably one of the biggest names. Now, the company has confirmed that it has a new CMOS sensor on the way.
