Celcom Axiata Berhad recently revealed a new secure chat app called Zipit Chat which offers encrypted chats, email and voice over IP (VoIP) along with password protection, stealth mode, self destructing messages and private mode for your phone book and media. Zipit Chat is built based on Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) 256 for more secure mobile services. Zipit Chat is available from Google play for Android at only RM10.00 while the iOS version for App store will only be available next month. XPAX Magic SIM recently offered a new add-on for those Malaysians who are up in the wee hours of 1AM to 7AM called Internet Burung Hantu (Night Owl Internet). This is available for XPAX Magic SIM users who subscribe to the weekly or month Internet plans starting from the RM10 Net10 which gets 500MB of data. The other four include Net25 for 1GB data at RM25, Net38 for 2GB data at RM38 and Net58 for 4GB data at RM58. You'll also get 75 minutes of free talk time and 75 free SMS for monthly plans while weekly plans offer 15 minutes of free talktime and 15 free SMS. There is a daily plan at RM5 with free 3 minutes talktime and 3 SMS but this does not provide the free late-night high speed Internet. Celcom Axiata Berhad recently revealed their latest limited edition package from Xpax called theMAGIC SIM for what they call the best in class mobile Internet plan for Malaysian users. Offering plans from as low as RM1/day the MAGIC SIM starter pack is available today from RM5. It will feature FREE Basic Internet, FREE High Speed Internet and FREE Call and SMS services. The FREE Basic Internet will offer 64kbps speeds for unlimited use of chat programs while the FREE Hi-Speed Internet will offer up to 75mbps speeds depending on your 4G LTE coverage. Like their previous FIRST Basic 38 plan, you can also carry forward unused Internet. Priced from RM1 for 30MB of Internet, you can also get an additional 30MB from today till 30 June 2015. The MAGIC SIM is maintained according to airtime but the MAGIC RELOADs should help add even more Internet value to those who need it. Celcom Axiata Berhad recently announced that through a partnership with Gigalink Solutions Sdn Bhd, it will now be able to provide M2M (machine-to-machine) targeted digital media content for taxis. This will be done through the Smartaxiads plarform allowing Celcom to show smart advertisements on taxis via Celcom 4G LTE. The platform will include a touch screen and interactive content such as the latest updates in the city that should prove useful to the right passenger. The Smartaxiads platform will utilize tablet-size panels installed at the driver's and front passenger's headrests in the taxi while a mini-sized router installed inthe headrests will connect with the Celcom 4G LTE via a special customized dongle. Other capabilities include the ability to detect and track Smartaxiads equipped vehicles. The Smartaxiads platform will be tied to the meter, so it will only come on when the taxi meter is running. It has already been installed in 500 taxis for now with another 1000 expected soon. Future features include more interactive applications and a passenger panic button along with plans to expand into Indonesia in the near future. Here's what they said about it:
