Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli today announced that a total of 11.55 million or 52.6 per cent of Malaysians aged 18 and above have updated their info on the Central Database Hub (PADU) as of the deadline yesterday. This makes a total of 17.65 million or 58.7 per cent of the people’s profiles updated on the database, including those aged under 18 years old.

With today being the last day to register for the Central Database Hub (PADU), the database has gotten quite a surge of signups over the past few days. As of 11.59pm yesterday (30 March), 10.85 million people have registered for PADU, with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) targeting a 50 per cent registration rate by the deadline tonight.

It’s no secret that since its launch on 2 January, the Central Database Hub (PADU) has faced scrutiny from the public, the number of people updating their info on the database is still low despite the due date being just a mere 7 days away. With the Sarawak Government also voicing reservations about PADU, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed Economy Minister Rafizi Ramil to clarify the database’s registration issue at the Cabinet Meeting next week.

The Central Database Hub (PADU) passed a significant milestone yesterday, recording over 3 million registrations. Specifically, PADU through its official Facebook page announced that 3.08 million Malaysians and permanent residents (PRs) have updated their info on the database as of 11.59pm on 13 February 2024.
