Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territory) Dr Zaliha Mustafa has revealed that the Cyber Security Bill 2024 will only be gazetted in Q3 of 2024. She added that the effective date of gazetting can only be set after the process of drafting related regulations is completed and the draft is approved by the Attorney General's Chamber (AGC).

Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching has announced that the Cyber Security Bill is projected to be tabled in Parliament by the end of this year at the latest. Currently, her Ministry is reviewing various aspects of the bill and seeking feedback from the Attorney-General’s Chambers and several other ministries before submitting it to Cabinet for approval.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that our country would immediately draft a Cyber Security Bill. The decision was made by the National Cyber Security Committee to ensure that all relevant aspects of legislation be finalised.
