The government will establish a Cyber Security Academy to cover more than 26,000 vacancies in the field. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the academy would be placed under the coordination of CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) to meet the needs of a skilled cybersecurity workforce among semiconductor and electronics-based companies.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that our country recorded approximately 800,000 attempts of cyberattack during a 5-year period. Its Deputy Minister, Teo Nie Ching further elaborated that this was from Cyber Security Malaysia’s (CSM) statistics from 2017 to 2021.

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) has revealed that a security vulnerability in the MyJPJ app was successfully resolved prior to its launch last Friday. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil said that the vulnerability was identified by Cyber Security Malaysia (CSM) during the development process of the app and users shouldn’t worry about their personal data when using MyJPJ.

The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) has announced that the government will be taking the offensive, defensive and advocacy measures to tackle the cyber security issues plaguing our country. Its Minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa further revealed that K-KOMM will also look at the technologies available in other countries to curb cyber crimes.
