In conjunction with Digi Accelerate launchpad for local startups, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has introduced a new first incubator programme – the Digi Incub8. Digi Incub8 is a programme designed to reinforce, develop and support Malaysia's startup system, and focuses on nurturing ideas and young startup businesses in the East Malaysia region, providing an accessible platform for entrepreneurs.

Today, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) announced the formation of a new division, Digi-X. Digi-X's role and responsibility in the company, is to construct digital adjacent businesses and competencies, firmly positioning the company in the rapidly-growing digital arena. The new division will be led by the company’s long-time digital advocate, Praveen Rajan, in the capacity of Chief Digital Officer.

To supplement calls made with the usual cell towers, telco companies have been testing WiFi-Calling to extend their services to places where normal signals may not reach. U Mobile looks to be the first to have the feature to their customers, as they will be launching their WiFi-Calling service sometime this week.
