Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching has announced that the Cyber Security Bill is projected to be tabled in Parliament by the end of this year at the latest. Currently, her Ministry is reviewing various aspects of the bill and seeking feedback from the Attorney-General’s Chambers and several other ministries before submitting it to Cabinet for approval.

Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching has revealed that a total of 1454 contents touching on issues of race, religion and royalty (3R) were removed from social media platforms between January and March this year. She added that the posts were removed after the social media operators collaborated with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Communications Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching today announced in Parliament that the new Mandatory Standards for Quality of Service (MSQoS) for wireless broadband will come into effect this 1 April. The new MSQoS dictates that the average download speed must be at least 7.7Mbps.
